??? is a region in Final Fantasy XIV. This "region" is used in the game to categorize various areas that do not cleanly fit into the other regions in the world at the time of their implementation, and as such encompasses multiple distinct geographic locations. Locations under "???" are not retroactively changed if their geographic region is implemented later, e.g., Gangos, which is geographically located in Ilsabard, was added in patch 5.25. However, the Ilsabard region was not officially implemented until patch 6.0. As such, Gangos remains categorized under the "???" region.
