Coordinates of vendors in housing districts
The coordinates for vendors in subdivisions are different than they are in the main division. For example Material Supplier (The Goblet) is listed at 10.9,8.9, which is true for the main division, but the subdivsion one is located at 13.5,10.9. Is there anyway to add this to the relevant Infoboxes? SashenkaKun (talk) 17:17, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
The only way right now would be to add a the following above the "Items for Sale" section. It won't show in vendor tables, though. Technically these are actually different NPCs with identical names and inventory. Freedom4556 (talk) 23:49, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
This:
==Locations==
{{NPC location table header}}
{{NPC location info|The Goblet|10.9,8.9|-}}
{{NPC location info|The Goblet (Subdivision)|13.5,10.9|-}}
|}
Generates this:
Locations
| Zone | Coordinates | Level range |
|---|---|---|
| The Goblet | (X:10.9, Y:8.9) | — |
| The Goblet (Subdivision) | (X:13.5, Y:10.9) | — |
Proposal to change the default tick colour to blue

In the interests of allowing the check mark to be easily distinguishable from the red cross (0
) by colour-blind people, I'd like to propose that we change the default colour to blue.
Specifically, I'd like to use this image, which I just uploaded:
. It's based on the existing green tick (
) but is much more easily distinguished by most colour-blind people.
What are people's thoughts? --Sophira (talk) 09:43, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Note that the mounts table as it currently stands on the Mounts page does *not* use the red cross, unlike in the example screenshot I uploaded. I believe that using the red cross instead of the grey cross would increase visibility in some cases, but it would heavily reduce visibility for most colour-blind people unless the default tick colour was changed, which is part of my motivation for making this proposal. --Sophira (talk) 09:50, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
Change implemented as depicted. Freedom4556 (talk) 17:35, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
I think I like it better this new way, even though I am not colorblind. It's more aesthetically pleasing IMO on top of having improved accessibility. Feronar (talk) 03:33, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
Dark mode
Would it be possible to have a dark mode? Mediawiki has extensions for it. Aerendyl (talk) 20:44, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
Level 50 Gear
I just found iL136 accessories in The Aery. Why aren't they listed?
The_Aery#Loot is level 55 Item Level 136 gear? It's on Earrings#Level_51_-_60 right where'd you'd expect it to be?
No leveling dungeon gear will be listed on an Endgame Gear Guide? 19:55, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Water Crystals
Greetings,
There are locations unlisted for Water Crystal gathering points. Specifically, the Ok'Gundu area in the Sea of Clouds (Heavensward). This is an important location because it doesn't require being high enough level or progress for the Level 70 nodes that are the current minimum on the list. I would edit this page to reflect however I have no idea how to edit the "No gathering nodes found that match the constraints of the query."
Cheers.
Temporary fix. Eventually the Gathering list will be complete and I will remove the manual entries. Freedom4556 (talk) 19:19, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Listing of mobs being unclear
I have noticed asim doing hunts or trying to gather sometimes mobs are listed with there location in quests, this can be confusing whentrying to find them, could we maybe add something in the location table to say if thats the location of a mob in a quest? Add minor detail to P11s: (Savage) page
This was a newly created account to document a rare mechanic in "Anabaseios: The Eleventh Circle (Savage)". Unfortunately, an automatic filter prevents me from editing the page, so if somebody sees this, may they consider adding it? -Khionae
- If the Dark and Light Tether is broken (I.e. by a player disconnecting), it creates a shockwave that deals damage to all players and inflicts Polarizing on them.

Wiki translations?
Hi! Does the framework this wiki is built on allow the management of different languages? Like there is on Wikipedia for example. This wiki is way more usable than Lodestone and I think it would really benefit from being multilingual. - Badong
- While useful, I don't think there are enough active editors who could maintain such a project. - Dr Agon (talk) 23:17, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
- Having any pages translated would be beneficial, including for the English wiki (since interlanguage links would link back to us, increasing traffic and furthering SEO). We would just need to 'link' both wikis initially using some sort of code, not sure how that all works. After that, it's simply a matter of placing [[fr:Hydaelyn]] on the Hydaelyn page, for example. Based on my experiences editing other wikis (including FF series in other languages), I think it could really be good -Chadimus Rex (talk) 13:29, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- The wiki owner would be in charge of setting up any inter-language wikis. You can email them on [email protected] - they're more likely to respond there instead of leaving a message on their talk page. - Dr Agon (talk) 20:32, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
Removal of "Dragonsong Token"
The page for the Dragonsong Totem item previously redirected to a page called "Dragonsong Token". I've removed the redirect, copied over the info from the "Dragonsong Token" page, and edited the table for the appropriate vendor to reflect the correct item name, but I can't delete the "Dragonsong Token" page. Could someone with the correct permissions do so? TrainerRedstone7 (talk) 05:56, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Dragonsong Token has now been redirected to Dragonsong Totem. - Dr Agon (talk) 06:01, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
Vanu Vanu naming may cause confusion
laii Gundu tribe: Lan'laii Gundu, Nat'laii Gundu, Vuk'laii Gundu
laii Vundu tribe: Lan'laii Vundu, Nat'laii Vundu, Vuk'laii Vundu
loii Vundu tribe: Lan'loii Vundu, Nat'loii Vundu, Vuk'loii Vundu
While editing these pages I found it to be very confusing. I think these pages would benefit with a clear table or some kind of "not to be confused with..." message at the top of the page. Dasaru (talk) 18:50, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
Adamantite Ore/Wyrm Obsidian icon confusion
Hi,
The same icon is being used for both the Adamantite Ore page and the Wyrm Obsidian page, despite them having different icons in game. The current icon reflects Wyrm Obsidian, whereas the old one is Adamantite Ore. I can see it was intentionally replaced, so I don't want to change anything, but if anyone could explain/fix what's happened here that would be appreciated!
Page name spelling error
The page name for Punuitiy Crossing Orchestrion Roll is spelled incorrectly; the spelling in game is "Punutiy" (no i between the u and t). I'm not sure how to change this, so if anyone knows how to fix that would be great :) Thank you!
- This has now been corrected. The name was actually misspelled in the game but it was fixed in a recent patch. - Dr Agon (talk) 17:41, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
Music parameter for area infobox
Hello,
Would it be possible to add a music parameter for the Template:Area infobox? Something like how it looks on mount pages, e.g. Torgal (mount). I often find myself searching for the music played in specific areas to farm/buy the Orchestrion Rolls, and I figure other people may be the same.
No gathering nodes found that match the constraints of the query. and Mudstone
hi everyone! the Mudstone page https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Mudstone incorrectly lists the gathering node as a level 20 mineral deposit, when it should be a level 20 rocky outcrop, but the source code only says "gathering list" in curly brackets, how do we correct this error? thanks! Erichofmann (talk) 00:16, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
edited to add: never mind, i figured it out! i had to go to the area page Skull Valley and change mining to quarrying. please feel free to delete this! Erichofmann (talk) 00:23, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
your "starting stats" are WRONG
pretty self explanatory, your starting stats page is full of inaccuracies
If you mean the Starting Attributes page, I just verified it against game chargen. The numbers are correct. If you mean some other page, please cite it. Glotos (talk) 06:55, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Editing embedded template information
How does one edit information contained in templates that don't show up in the edit menu? I've been trying to remove a specific FATE (Bad Breath in Paradise) from the associated List of FATE pages because it was removed from the game at some point, but I can't find any way to actually do that. Durra (talk) 22:43, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- If it's a table list of some kind, it's picking stuff up based on page content. So you'd either need to know what the template is searching on and clear that from the page, or modify the template to exclude something like the presence of the retired template. What page is the list on that you want to remove the FATE from? Glotos (talk) 01:32, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- It is difficult to remove from the table altogether without affecting other pages, but I changed the template that will cause the retired FATE to be flagged, e.g. Elpis FATEs. - Dr Agon (talk) 02:15, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
Spots for Sporing Mist Red Alert are labeled wrong.
Between the table and the map, the 2 red alerts are labeled the other way around.
All the other intels are correct, so I suppose an "easy" fix would be to switch the table, like this ?
"Jokes and References" sections?
Clearly the developers enjoy adding in-jokes and references to other pop culture works into the game. Is there any objection to adding a section titled something along the lines of "Jokes and References" to pages where it would apply? -- BenjaminGeiger (talk) 18:25, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- You can add a "Trivia" section. - Dr Agon (talk) 19:05, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- That's even better, thanks. -- BenjaminGeiger (talk) 19:27, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
Adding more text to the start of pages
Hi all, Im new here and looked around the wiki to how things work and such and noticed that every pages starts with 1 or 2 very generic sentences, since this is the first thing people see when they load any page wouldnt it be a lot more inviting to write a bit more of an overview or summary of what that page is? This will also show that in each subject there is a bit more effort put into to writing about it. For example on the page of Sastasha by reading the first sentence you barely know anything about it, its a level 15 dungeon introduced in patch 2.0, but for what reason is the player going there? Whats the purpose of the dungeon? The page doesnt mention it also being the first dungeon the player unlocks, together with the duty finder. I see on the edit page that this section is linked to the info table on the right side, but there is no way to edit it and start differently. I take quite a bit of inspiration of this from the Old School Runescape wiki which does have this on basically every page and i love to just read through sometimes. That same thing isnt really here, there are a lot of pages on the wiki but most of them just feel and are empty.
I know this is a very big thing and id love to help with it since i do really like writing these types of things but i also want to bring this to light for the opinions of others on this subject. (im also in the discord under the same username if you wanna contact me)
Also a bit of a side note, but with the example of Sastasha and other pages that contain this, but why is the Lore section all the way at the bottom of the page, after things like the loot, achievements etc.? It looks quite weird - Senery (talk) 17:53, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi and welcome! I agree that many page intros are bare-bones at the moment. The general lack of lore is mostly due to this wiki gravitating towards something that is more gameplay-focused instead of lore-focused, which also explains why lore sections tend to be placed near the end of pages. In fact, there was a recent Reddit post that discussed the reasons why information for FFXIV is so fragmented. We would certainly love to include more information that would be useful to players. If you have specific suggestions, feel free to bring them up on Discord, and I greatly appreciate your help. - Dr Agon (talk) 19:38, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the welcome :) ive definitely noticed it being more gameplay focused but i still wanted to mention the lore section but thats was more because it felt really out of place at the bottom. I have started tackling some of the NPCs with no image category since there are so many that dont have any, Some of which are gonna be difficult to do since they are quest specific but i will do what i can. As far as suggestions go, i have for example written a bit on 13th Order Alchemist it really isnt much but to me it still feels more lively i guess? it will definitely take longer when doing it like this but i think in the long run it will be nice to have :) - Senery (talk) 00:03, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
Getting started with categorizing Actions
Hi, I'm new! I saw the To-Do List and tried to find something that would be doable for me. One of the things listed as important is "Action pages - categorize into raid buffs, healing, mitigation, etc."
I have no experience with MediaWiki, but it looks like I'd just need to add the relevant category to each action page (and then create a page for the category itself). Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Since this would affect a lot of pages, is it OK to just get started on this? Or should it be coordinated beforehand (for example: should single-target and AoE mitigations get their own category? or do we need 3 categories - healing, ST healing, AoE healing) to avoid reverting tons of page changes if something is too opinionated or something? FreezyLemon (talk) 08:47, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
It looks like categories for actions are usually applied by templates (mainly the Template:Action infobox). I don't think these new categories should be included in the infobox, at least for now. The game itself doesn't acknowledge that actions fall into categories / similar usecases (Kerachole and Sacred Soil are both abilities, but so are Arcane Circle and Mog of the Ages) and this categorization can be subjective, so it's not the best fit for a box full of facts. I think I will just get started on this and manually tag actions that should be uncontroversial (e.g. Cure). FreezyLemon (talk) 11:02, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
