Walkthrough

Minfilia is in The Solar.

Steps

Journal

  • Minfilia has a final favor to ask of you.
  • Minfilia's father, Warburton, was a Garlean spy whose true loyalties lay with the Ala Mhigan Resistance. Before his untimely death some fifteen years ago, he stole a wealth of imperial research on the primals, and compiled the findings in his private journal. Though this journal has served to guide Minfilia ever since, she has resolved -- after no small amount of soul-searching -- to entrust it to Urianger, in the hope that he may succeed in unraveling its remaining mysteries. Present Warburton's journal to Urianger on Minfilia's behalf.
  • By curious coincidence, Minfilia contacts you via linkpearl immediately after you deliver the journal to Urianger. She has departed for Revenant's Toll, and bids you follow as soon as you are able. Travel to Mor Dhona, and speak with Tataru inside the Seventh Heaven to gain entrance to the Rising Stones.
  • Tataru welcomes you as warmly as always, and assures you that the Scions' new headquarters will more than meet with your expectations. Take a moment to explore the Rising Stones, and speak with Minfilia when you are satisfied that you know your way around.
  • Even as the Scions of the Seventh Dawn celebrate the inauguration of their new headquarters, Urianger arrives unannounced, bearing troubling news. The distant yet dependable Students of Baldesion are no longer responding to his messages. Fearing the worst, Minfilia bids Urianger do everything he can to determine the cause of their uncharacteristic silence. For the time being, however, the Scions have no choice but to continue their work without the aid of one of their closest allies.

Dialogue

Accepting the Quest

Minfilia: Let us set aside the matter of this Ascian until after we have completed our move to the Rising Stones. There is but one final favor I would ask of you before I depart.
Minfilia: I believe I mentioned before that my father was a member of the Ala Mhigan Resistance. The truth, however, is more complicated than that.
Minfilia: As far as the Empire knew, he was their spy. He maintained the deception for nigh on half a decade, furnishing the Resistance with vital imperial secrets while feeding his paymasters subtly conceived misinformation.
Minfilia: When he died some fifteen years ago, my father left behind his journal, which I have closely guarded ever since. It contains every shred of information he and his agents could steal on what they believed to be the single greatest threat to Eorzea: the primals.
Minfilia: Its wisdom has guided me through the years, though there is much within I still do not understand...
Minfilia: It is my hope that Urianger will fare better.
Minfilia: Tell him to treat it with care. It is all I have left of my father.
(Optional)
Minfilia: Please, before I reconsider, give my father's journal to Urianger.

Giving Warburton's journal to Urianger

Urianger: I thought thee departed. To what end dost thou linger?
<Hand Over Warburton's Journal>
Urianger: The father's final bequest...the daughter's lifelong labor.
Urianger: It is no small thing to surrender such a cherished memento. Well can I imagine the Antecedent's pain. Upon mine honor, I swear to spare no effort in the study of these materials, lest my lady's sacrifice be in vain.

Cutscene Start

Minfilia: [Forename], this is Minfilia.
Minfilia: Forgive me, but I could wait no longer─I have departed for the Rising Stones.
Minfilia: If...if you have yet to...
Minfilia: ...Once you have given the journal to Urianger, I bid you come to the Seventh Heaven in Revenant's Toll. Tataru will be there to show you inside our new headquarters.
Minfilia: Assuming you have already attuned to it, you may wish to make use of our new aetheryte in Revenant's Toll. After all, it is right on our doorstep!

Speaking with Tataru in Revenant's Toll

Optional Dialogue

Urianger: Thou hast been summoned to the Rising Stones, yes? Then keep not thy fellows waiting.
Slafborn: Ah, there you are. Your friends are waiting for you inside.

Cutscene

Tataru: Oh, [Forename]! You're here! Good, good. We were all wondering when you'd show up!
Slafborn: As I was just telling your restive receptionist here, I'm pleased to inform you that all the documents have been prepared and all signatures signed. The Rising Stones is officially yours!
Tataru: Splendid! From this day forward, I will spare no effort in seeing that it is as welcoming and comfortable a home for us as the Waking Sands ever was!
Tataru: That said, this is all somewhat intimidating, is it not? So many unfamiliar places, and unfamiliar faces...

Tataru: Take that odd-looking fellow over there, for example. He's been eyeing us most suspiciously ever since we arrived. I cannot help but wonder if we are truly safe here...
Slafborn: Ah, that man. I can't say I've spoken to him myself, but rumor has it he's come to hunt for ancient treasures in the Crystal Tower.
Slafborn: You've seen the structure I speak of, no? It'd be hard to miss it. That massive pillar of shining crystal that looms high over the land just to the southeast of here.
Slafborn: If the tales are to be believed, it's a remnant of some ancient civilization. The details remain a mystery, and that's no doubt why it's drawn adventurers and scholars from all over looking to unearth its secrets.
Slafborn: The man over there is no exception─and if my instincts are true, he knows more than most. If you're curious about the tower yourself, you could do worse than to talk to him and see what he knows.
Slafborn: Why, if I weren't otherwise occupied with my duties here, I'd have half a mind to join you. I mean, just look at it! I can scarce begin to imagine what wonders lie inside...

If you have started Feature QuestLegacy of Allag

Slafborn: Revenant's Toll is populated mostly by adventurers, which means─as you might expect─that there's quite a bit of coming and going.
Slafborn: Emphasis on the coming─at least of late, what with the investigation of the Crystal Tower hitting full stride. I've lost track of how many fortune-seekers and scholars have shown up in the past few days alone, hoping to unearth ancient secrets.
Slafborn: I don't suppose the tower's piqued your interest as well?
Slafborn: You've already offered your aid to the effort, you say? You certainly move quickly, my friend.
Slafborn: If I weren't otherwise occupied with my duties here, I'd have half a mind to join you. Alas, I'll have to settle for hearing the tales of all you've seen upon your return. Be safe in there, yes?
Slafborn: Most of the men and women you see around you here in Revenant's Toll are adventurers who come and go as they wish. I daresay that should make it easier for you to go about your business here.
Slafborn: And it shouldn't hurt that [Forename] here has already made something of a name for himself/herself here. Isn't that so, [Forename]?
Tataru: Why, that's wonderful to hear! Rest assured that this receptionist will work just as hard to see that our efforts do not skip a beat despite the relocation.

Both

Tataru: And with that, [Forename], I do believe it's time you officially announced your presence to everyone inside.
Tataru: The Antecedent and the others will surely be overjoyed to see you.

Speaking with Minfilia in the Rising Stones

Optional Dialogue

Tataru: Welcome to our new home─the Rising Stones! Isn't it lovely?
Tataru: But why are you standing around here talking to me? Everyone's waiting for you inside!
Y'shtola: As you can see, our Sharlayan allies have furnished us with a wealth of new tomes. 'Twould be prudent for you to broaden your knowledge as well.
Coultenet: I did not realize the Scions had moved until I arrived in Vesper Bay. Thankfully, Urianger was kind enough to direct me here.
Coultenet: I know I've only just joined, but if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.
Thancred: As ravishing as ever. Perhaps, for old times' sake, she would—
Thancred: Gods, [Forename]! Don't sneak up on me like that. We bards are an easily startled lot.
F'lhaminn: Oh? You wish to help? That's very kind of you, but I can manage on my own. Besides, you should be our having grand adventures, not withering away here with me.
Papalymo: So here we are. Completely independent and unquestionable neutral—or at least more so than before. Truth be told, I cannot say it feels that different. Of course, Yda begs to differ.
Yda: I love the smell of victory in the morning! It smells like sweat—No, no... Mun-Tuy sauce! Noooo... Victory! Yeah, victory!
Hoary Boulder: <cough> <wheeze> The horror... The horror...
Alphinaud: Is it not wonderful, [Forename]? Nary a single presumptuous merchant has darkened our door.
Alphinaud: I know full well they will come in time, but for now let us enjoy the respite.

Cutscene

Minfilia: Well, it is certainly spacious.
Minfilia: Today marks a new beginning for the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, for today we declare our independence.
Alphinaud: We shall henceforth be beholden to no nation, but serve all of Eorzea's people, proudly and openly.
Alphinaud: But this does not mean that we will sever our ties to the Eorzean Alliance. On the contrary, the Antecedent and I shall endeavor to strengthen them. Rest assured, however, that we shall not permit political considerations to influence our decisions.
Minfilia: Our identity remains unchanged, as does our cause. We are the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, and our single purpose is to safeguard the future of Eorzea.
Scions of the Seventh Dawn: For Eorzea!
Minfilia: A moment of your time, [Forename]. I would speak of Elidibus─
Urianger: Pardon the intrusion, my lady, but the matter which bringeth me will admit no delay. Mine every attempt to contact the Students of Baldesion hath been met with silence.
Minfilia: No one will respond?
Minfilia: How odd. Allow me to try.
Minfilia: ...No response. Surely they would not ignore us?
Urianger: They have never yet, my lady. I fear we must assume the worst.
Minfilia: No. No, I will not believe it. An outpost, perhaps, but not their headquarters.
Minfilia: Their wards are beyond circumvention. Had they come under attack, they would most certainly have raised the alarm. None could penetrate their sanctum unnoticed─
Minfilia: But for those who lack the gift and the knowledge both. Oh no...
Minfilia: Contact their agents in the field at once. If aught has befallen the Students of Baldesion, they may know of it.
Minfilia: ...Though the thought of it pains me, until such time as we have evidence to the contrary, we can but assume the worst. Accordingly, we must needs seek another source of information on Elidibus.
Urianger: 'Tis possible that others in the homeland are possessed of such knowledge. Be fairly warned, however: they are unlike to yield it unconditionally.
Minfilia: Do what you must.
Minfilia: Yet another unforeseen and unwelcome development...
Minfilia: What could be next, I wonder? A visit from a crimson-clad Ascian, perhaps? Or ocher? Or puce? And which of our allies will then fall silent...?
Minfilia: ...For a time, I thought we had gained the upper hand.
Minfilia: When you shattered the Crystal of Darkness and cast out Lahabrea, I dared to hope that we had found a way to rid ourselves of the Ascian menace.
Minfilia: But I was wrong. He endures, and may yet return. Upon that point, I have no doubt that Elidibus spoke true.
Minfilia: Yet there must be a way to destroy them utterly─a way to spare this world their unholy machinations!
Minfilia: I dare not consider the alternative...
Minfilia: There are forces at work we do not understand, [Forename].
Minfilia: I discern them all around─in disturbances too great and too numerous to be dismissed as mere coincidence. Doubtless the Paragons are involved, but how and to what end is far from clear.
Minfilia: I know not what will come, but I do know that we will rise and meet it as one.
Minfilia: Ah, my stalwart hero... Your face is a picture of resolve.
Minfilia: I know that you will be ready when the time comes. With luck, however, that will not be for a while yet. Pray return to your private affairs with my blessing. Should anything arise, you will be informed.
Minfilia: Krile...where are you?

Cutscene

Nabriales: Your intercession was not foretold.
Elidibus: You object?
Nabriales: We question. Our plans are in motion, your intentions unclear.
Elidibus: They survived the Seventh Ardor and are stronger now in the gift. Does that not intrigue you?
Nabriales: ...No, it does not.
Elidibus: Serve as you will. So too shall I. We labor not at cross purposes.
Elidibus: The wisdom of His plan shall become apparent in time, when the veil is lifted from their eyes...
Elidibus: And, at long last, they see.
