Reaper

The Garleans' forebears were once humble farmers who made their home among the sun-drenched fields of southern Ilsabard. That was, until they were driven from this paradise by invaders wielding arcane magicks. Forced north into the frigid mountains, the survivors sought a means to tap into the reservoir of aether otherwise closed to them. A daring few found their answer within the void, binding themselves to its creatures to gain verboten power─power fed by the souls of the slain. Once more they took up their scythes, this time to reap a crimson harvest.

Reaper (RPR) is a Disciple of War job introduced in Endwalker (6.0) expansion and unlockable at level 70. It is a  Melee DPS job and does not have a base class.

General information

Guild

Lemures Headquarters functions as the Reaper job guild. It can be entered from Ul'dah - Steps of Thal. The job trainer is Drusilla, who is located in the Lemures Headquarters.

Unlock

• Prerequisite: The player must have purchased the Endwalker expansion and be level 70 or higher Disciple of War or Magic
• Quest: Speak to Flustered Attendant in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (x12.8,y8.6) to obtain the quest The Killer Instinct.

Equipment

The Reaper is a disciple of war and wears armor "of Maiming" (shared with Dragoon) while using accessories "of Slaying" (shared with Dragoon, Monk, and Samurai). Reapers use war scythes as weapons.

Job mechanics

Soul Gauge and Shroud Gauge and Death Gauge are the Job Gauges of Reaper.

Soul Gauge and Shroud Gauge

When you learn the trait   Soul Gauge, the Soul Gauge will be displayed, indicating the number of Souls (red) you have accumulated.

Souls are accumulated upon executing Reaper's basic combo weaponskills and by defeating enemies who fall under the effects of Death's Design from the action   Shadow of Death or   Whorl of Death. Souls can be used to execute   Blood Stalk,   Grim Swathe (acquired at level 55), and   Gluttony (acquired at level 76).

Upon learning the trait   Shroud Gauge, the Shroud Gauge will be displayed, indicating the number of Shrouds (blue) you have accumulated.

Shrouds are acquired by executing certain weaponskills, and can be used to execute   Enshroud.

Simple Mode

Death Gauge

When you learn the trait   Shroud Gauge, the duration of Enshrouded and the stacks of Lemure Shroud will be displayed. Lemure Shroud stacks can be used to execute several actions such as   Void Reaping and   Communio (acquired at level 90).

When you learn the trait   Void Soul, Void Shroud will be gained when stacks of Lemure Shroud are used. These can be used to execute several actions such as   Lemure's Slice and   Lemure's Scythe.

The sight of a reaper is the rare glimpse of one's inevitable death, and most who fall by the scythe are never so fortunate as to witness it. The reaper's dark leather regalia ensures this, making flesh and blood appear—and sound—no more substantial than whisper and shadow.

That these predominately Garlean assassins have not abandoned their stygian attire in favor of colors more suited to the silver frosts of the Eblan Rime, however, has led to speculation that it is no simple camouflage. Some postulate that by emulating the ominous appearance of their avatar, a reaper confuses and terrifies the victim. Or perhaps the coloration of their more mundane garments is in deference to the fact that, on the occasion that reaper and voidsent become one, they are wreathed in aetherial garb seemingly woven from darkness itself.
