Lancer is a Disciple of War class that specializes in the use of polearms. It is a physical, melee class capable of using long spears, halberds and tridents. Lancer's Guild is in the forested city of Gridania. If you choose lancer as your first class, you will start off in the city of Gridania. At level 30 lancer- can acquire the job Dragoon.
Lancer is a melee physical damage dealing class specialized in single target DPS. The most important stat for lancer is strength, which increases attack power. Lancers utilize positioning and combinations to maximize their damage. They inflict piercing damage, allowing them to take advantage of their own Disembowel effect and giving them some synergy with ranged physical classes. They can wear heavier armor than any other non-tanking class, making them fairly sturdy against physical attacks.
