Prerequisites

Before beginning to create a Phantom Weapon Eclipticum, players must:

• complete a Phantom Weapon Obscurum from the quest A Phantom Reborn
• reach level 100 for your chosen job as a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic.

Under No Illusion

Starting NPC:

Starting Location:

Phantom Village (X:6.6, Y:7.1)

1. Speak with Gerolt while you have a phantom weapon obscurum equipped, in your Armoury Chest, or in your inventory.
2. /congratulate Gerolt.
3. Deliver the requested items to Gerolt.
4. Obtain a Monarch Whetstone.
5. Obtain an Ancestral Alloy Ingot.
6. Obtain a spool of Ascendant Twine.
7. Obtain a bottle of Majestic Polish.
8. Speak with Gerolt.

• Monarch Whetstone is purchased from Goplu in Tuliyollal (X:13.1, Y:12.7) for  500,000 gil.

The other items are level 100 crafts, with the recipes requiring Master Recipe Tomes XII. The recipe stats are the same as the items previous used for Phantom Weapons Obscurum.

• Ancestral Alloy Ingot is made by Carpenter, Leatherworker, or Weaver.
• Ascendant Twine is made by Blacksmith, Armorer, or Goldsmith.
• Majestic Polish is made by Alchemist or Culinarian.
• Even though there is no  High-quality version of these crafts, they must be completed with a nearly full quality bar (at least 14200/14204 quality), or else the craft will fail.
• 5620 Craftsmanship and 5080 Control are required in order to attempt to craft the items.
• Teamcraft's 7.4 budget meld set (5635 Craftsmanship, 4969 Control, 583 CP) plus high-quality All i Pebre and high-quality Cunning Craftsman's Tisane can macro these crafts with about 98% success using a macro from Raphael.
• The high-tier meldset (even with just a Stellar main-hand tool and one CP meld on the offhand tool) can macro it with 100% success using just high-quality Rroneek Steak and no Tisane.
• As these recipes are not Expert Recipes, they will be trivialized in patch 8.0 when Trained Eye becomes usable on level 100 recipes.

Alternatively, since all of the required items are tradable, they can be bought off the Market Board.

Phantoms to Fillet

1. Deliver 100 of each type of phantom dispeller to Gerolt.

This step requires collecting a total of 100 each of three types of Phantom Dispeller. These can obtained either from:

• (All types) FATEs and critical encounters on The Occult Crescent: North Horn, excluding The Forked Tower: Magic and The Forked Tower: Magic (Extreme)
• Completing certain duties via the Duty Roulette:
  • Phantom Dispeller α: High-level Dungeons
  • Phantom Dispeller β: Trials
  • Phantom Dispeller γ: Normal Raids

A Phantom Unveiled

Phantom Village (X:6.6, Y:7.2)

Reward:

Phantom Weapon Eclipticum, depending on job

1. Purchase 3 Ecliptic Arcanite from Ermina in Phantom Village (X:6.9, Y:7.3). Each costs  500 Allagan Tomestones of Mathematics, or 1,500 tomestones total.
2. With the [Corresponding Phantom Weapon Obscurum] in your inventory or Armoury Chest, deliver the chunks of ecliptic arcanite to Dodokkuli.

This quest consists only of buying the Waning Arcanite and trading those for the desired Phantom Weapon Eclipticum. Like the prior tomestone exchange for arcanite, players also need to exchange the corresponding Phantom Weapon Obscurum. All other weapons can thereafter be acquired in the same way, without needing to accept a repeatable quest.
