Vrandtic Visionary's Tools can be upgraded to Lodestar Tools by crafting Expert Recipe  collectables (for crafters) or gathering  collectables (for gatherers), handing them in to Quinnana for "components", and handing those in to Chora-Zoi.

Gatherers also have the option of using   Aetherial Reduction on the collectables to get the components, rather than handing them in. Aetherial Reduction has a chance of earning double the components, so it's faster than handing in the collectables.

Items required

Crafters

Your current Splendorous Tool must be equipped when crafting the required items.

Craft 20 of the sixth-tier tool-specific collectables  at maximum collectability and trade them to Quinnana to receive 60 nightforged components. Give these to Chora-Zoi to complete the sixth and final upgrade.

Warning: These are Expert Recipes, meaning that is is much more efficient to craft them manually with an understanding of expert crafting.

• Each craft requires 1x of an item that can be bought from the Scrip Exchange for  35 Purple Crafters' Scrips, or from the Market Board.
  • In best case (20 crafts), this costs a total of  700.
  • In worst case (60 crafts), this costs a total of  2,100.

Macro tips:

If making macros, note that the crafts for this step sometimes have the "Malleable" condition (1.5x to progress gained) - meaning there is a chance that the craft will finish too early and have low collectability. This can be fixed by adding   Final Appraisal with a wait time of 2 seconds, right before any action that would increase progress - this will prevent said action from finishing the craft. Since Final Appraisal does not consume a step, and it costs only 1 CP to use, it is easy to slot it in as a guardrail without much drawback.

However, make sure that Final Appraisal is NOT active for the final step of the craft, or else durability will likely run out at the last step, and the craft will fail. The buff lasts for 5 steps and is only consumed when progress would've hit 100%, so it can be cast a few steps before the progress-increasing skill it is intended to stop.

If the "Primed" condition is active on the step that Final Appraisal is cast, then the buff will last 7 steps instead. Therefore, for additional safety, try to avoid casting Final Appraisal within the final 7 steps of a craft.

Notes:

• The   Almasty Fur,   Petalouda Scales,   Berkanan Sap, and   Amra are monster parts that cannot be gathered by Miner or Botanist. They can be collected in bulk from sending a combat Retainer on Hunting ventures, or bought in bulk from Gemstone Traders for Bicolor Gemstones.

Botanist and Miner

Your current Splendorous Tool must be equipped when gathering at the specified gathering points.

Gather 110 of the sixth-tier tool-specific collectables  at maximum collectability and trade them to Quinnana to receive 220 nightforged components. Give these to Chora-Zoi to complete the sixth upgrade.

Alternatively, collectable reward items can now also be obtained through   Aetherial Reduction, yielding either 3 or 6 items at 1000 collectability. This means that the reward item quota is fulfilled faster that way, requiring 74 or fewer collectables at 1000 collectability, rather than the 110 needed when turning them in to Chora-Zoi.
You will also require 220 hidden items (  Nightforged Ice Cluster or   Nightforged Water Cluster) located at the same nodes the collectables  are.

• Note: These are not considered "elemental clusters" despite the name and appearance, so   The Twelve's Bounty and The Giving Land do not work. Regular yield-increasing skills such as   King's Yield or   Blessed Harvest should work, though.

Fisher

Your current Splendorous Tool must be equipped when fishing, and you must use   Select Bait Ball as bait.

•   Select Bait Balls can be purchased from Quinnana in the Crystarium (X:10.4, Y:7.7) for  2 each.

Catch 68 of the sixth-tier tool-specific collectables  at maximum collectability and trade them to Quinnana to receive 170 of the nightforged components. Give these to Chora-Zoi to complete the sixth upgrade.
