Additional Information

The twenty-five year old Vice Marshal of the Immortal Flames, Pipin Tarupin was born to a drunkard of a father who traded him to some man of the Coliseum for a refill of his tankard. There, the boy met the Bull of Ala Mhigo, who granted him his freedom. Yet, the Dunesfolk youth realized he would likely be sold again should he return home, and begged Raubahn to train him as a gladiator. Touched by the boy's desire to seize his own future, the Ala Mhigan found a lawful means to adopt Pipin as his own. Growing under Raubahn's care, Pipin went on to find great success as a mercenary, and was involved with the establishment of the Immortal Flames. Eventually, he came to serve in the Bloodsworn directly beneath his adopted father.

Though deadly serious in the line of duty, Pipin does enjoy a healthy nip of good Ul'dahn spirits each evening—the stronger, the better.

Lore

Pipin came to the aid of the Warrior of Light and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn numerous times, and aided in the march against the Garlean Empire in Operation Archon. After the events of the banquet where the Sultana was believed to have been assassinated and the Warrior of Light and the Scions framed, he assisted Alphinaud Leveilleur in escaping the clutches of the Brass Blades and secured him, Tataru Taru and the Warrior of Light a means of escaping to Coerthas Western Highlands to meet with Haurchefant.

Later, when the location where Raubahn was being held was discovered to be Halatali, Pipin mounted a rescue mission to save him from the Crystal Braves leader Ilberd, who intended to execute him for "abandoning their homeland". He secured the aid of the Warrior of Light, Yugiri Mistwalker and Alphinaud, and charged the prison, defeating any Crystal Braves who stood in his way. He aided his father's escape and took him to the Waking Sands following him learning that the Sultana had in fact not been assassinated, and was merely under the effects of a powerful sleeping draught. He rejoined his father as the Vice Marshal once he returned to active duty as the leader of the Immortal Flames.

Following the defeat of Nidhogg and Ishgard rejoining the Eorzean Alliance, Pipin took part in the Grand Melee, fighting under the banner of the Immortal Flames. Though he fought hard, taking out many other members of the other Grand Companies, he was ultimately beaten by the Warrior of Light, and witnessed the battle between them and his father.

When the Griffin attacked Baelsar's Wall, Pipin took part in the battle against the Imperial Soldiers who defended it, securing a path to the top of the wall for the Warrior of Light and the other Scions. Following the events of the battle between Shinryu and Omega, Pipin was tasked with claiming and holding control over the Wall.

Pipin was also on the frontlines of the battle for Ala Mhigo. He assisted in several missions against the various Castra in the area, and battled against The Skulls and the XIIth Imperial Legion when they attacked Rhalgr's Reach. He was the runner to Castrum Oriens who brought reinforcements to the battle as well.

Pipin led the charge against Specula Imperatoris, taking out Imperials and Skulls alike, and held one of the towers. However, when the Garlean Empire turned the canons on the base of the tower and blew it into the ocean, he led those inside to safety. He wielded one of his father's twin blades, Tizona, and fought to liberate Ala Mhigo at the Royal Menagerie, clearing the way to the top for the Warrior of Light.

Pipin would later become the general of the Immortal Flames when his father was dismissed so he could stay and help stabilize Ala Mhigo, and lead its army. One would assume Pipin also inherited his father's duties on the Syndicate at the same time. Pipin would go on to lead the Immortal Flames into Garlemald to assist with the mission to take out The Tower of Babil and rescue the Garlean civilians trapped there.
