The Volcanic Heart

The Volcanic Heart is a Crystalline Conflict map. It is available for both Custom Matches and Ranked Matches.
Overview
The Volcanic Heart is a Crystalline Conflict arena introduced in Patch 6.1 for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Set within a subterranean magma chamber, the battlefield is defined by periodic volcanic eruptions and a compact central arena that forces fast-paced skirmishes. Its dynamic terrain and timed hazards make it one of the more chaotic and explosive maps available.
Map Layout
Volcanic Heart has a map layout that is symmetrical and compact, focusing on central engagement with limited flanking space:
- Starting Zones: Each team begins in elevated alcoves on opposite sides of the map, connected to the arena by short ramps. Each side's starting zone offers two ground potions found directly forward on the way to the center, and either east (if on Team Astra) or west of the starting spawn if on Team Umbra.
- Central Platform: The tactical crystal begins in the middle of the map on either the west or east side of the center based on starting team.
- Outer Lane: A narrow "speed lane" flanks the side of the arena, offering temporary safe zones during eruption phases but limited cover.
Map Effects & Gimmicks
The Volcanic Heart features one of the most active hazard mechanics in Crystalline Conflict: The Volcanic Eruption. Volcanic Eruptions occur at set time intervals during gameplay with the first one occurring between one and a half minutes to two minutes after the match starts. Upon eruption, self-destructing bombs scatter across the field which begin glowing orange telegraphs across the battlefield. After a brief delay, massive lava bursts erupt, dealing heavy damage (30,000) and leaving behind a circular orange bomb core (often referred to as a "skittle") that can be walked over and grants the buff Hardcore. Hardcore increases damage dealt by 10.25% multiplicatively for each stack of Hardcore buff.
The eruptions occur in a rotating sequence, meaning experienced players can learn the pattern and position safely between blasts.
Tactical Considerations
During Volcanic Eruption, jobs with displacement tools can capitalize on narrow walkways to secure environmental kills. The following is a list of such jobs and their respective tool(s) that allow them to do so:
- Blota (PvP): Can be casted on target as player stands on telegraph.
- Salted Earth (PvP): Can be casted on surrounding enemies within 10 yalms to draw them into telegraph.
- Phlegma III (PvP): Has a minor draw-in effect along with a root when casted on target and surrounding enemies.
- Wind's Reply (PvP): Pushes target into telegraph.
- Tenebrae Lemurum (PvP): If player is angled correctly, can fear targets into telegraph.
- Blast Arrow (PvP): Can push targets into telegraph similar to Wind's Reply.
- Scattergun (PvP): Can displace and push multiple targets into telegraph.
- Contradance (PvP): Can charm targets into telegraph.
- Crimson Strike (PvP): Can knockback targets by 5 yalms into telegraph.
- Advent of Chocobastion (PvP): Can knockback targets if placed and angled correctly into telegraph by 15 yalms.
