Lore
A Lalafellin man of fifty five years, Teledji Adeledji was born to a Plainsfolk father from Limsa Lominsa and a wealthy Dunesfolk mother from Ul'dah. He inherited much from his parents, including their mercantile sense, and with that small fortune, he tried his hand at the money lending business. Increasing his funds manifold through usury, he began to purchase promising ventures and small shops. Teledji gained renown when he opened the Platinum Mirage, and the wealthy came in droves to try their luck in his halls. His coffers swelled, so much so that he even took to collecting and breeding exotic pets. Since the Calamity, however, his earnings have slowed. His proposed Carteneau Reclamation Bill may have been a way around this... as was his plot against the Sultana's life.
As a member of The Syndicate, Teledji has had various control over all the goings on in Ul'dah. When the Doman refugees appeared in Ul'dah, he backed their request for sanctuary, but was turned down by Lolorito and the rest of The Syndicate, as the Ala Mhigan refugees outside the city would most likely riot. However, this seemed to be Teledji's ultimate goal, as he later incited riots within the city. It is believed that he hoped to use the ensuing violence to pass his Carteneau Reclamation Bill to have the refugees relocated and settled at Carteneau, bringing the battlefield under their control and giving them access to the Allagan weapon Omega, assumedly to further exert his control and power.
Despite the power he and The Syndicate had over Ul'dah, the Sultana Nanamo Ul Namo often interfered with his most nefarious plots, and was unwilling to allow him to control her. Teledji arranged for the Crystal Braves to act in secret as his private militia, and had them coerce the Sultana's handmaiden into poisoning her drink and framed the Warrior of Light and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, other annoyances that got in his way. When he believed that he had won and all his opponents removed from the field, he openly mocked the "death" of the Sultana, driving Raubahn into a blind rage. He was felled where he stood when the Bull of Ala Mhigo rushed him and cut him down, ending his schemes once and for all. [1]
