"It is not our way to simply outfight our adversaries; we seek to overwhelm them."

Axemaster Wyrnzoen was a captain of the Yellowjackets with many victories to his name. A wound to the knee in a skirmish with the kobolds, however, forced him to abandon the front lines. Nonetheless, the Sea Wolf's skill with the axe and stalwart character did not go unnoticed. After the Marauders' Guild was restructured at at Admiral Merlwyb's behest, he was appointed master, and now brings all the wisdom of his thirty-five summers to bear in instructing new students of the axe.

Lore

As the guildmaster or Axemaster of the Marauders guild, Wyrnzoen welcomes adventurers of all kinds, training them the art of wielding an axe and mastering their inner strength. He inducted the Warrior of Light into their ranks, handing them their first weapon and sent them on various missions to hone their skills, from splitting boulders of various sizes to slaying the pests outside of Limsa Lominsa. With enough training, Wyrnzoen sends the Warrior of Light out with his sister, Solkwyb, to handle an incursion of Megalocrabs, while also rescuing a young boy who had snuck off tracking the large monster they had followed and who had killed his parents: Kujata. Telling them to hone their anger and their thirst for vengeance, Wyrnzoen began training them to turn them into the lethal weapon they would need to be in order to take down the massive Aurochs.

From here, Wyrnzoen sends the Warrior of Light on various missions to rid Limsa Lominsa and the surrounding towns and settlements of the monsters that follow in Kujata's wake. When they receive word that the young boy, Sighard had run off after the massive monster. Upon arriving and learning that several pack jackals have surrounded not only the boy, but also the Warrior of Light and Solkwyb, Wyrnzoen rushes to their side, scattering the beasts and saving everyone present. He carries the boy back to his grandfather's home so he can recover, and continues the Warrior of Light's training.

Eventually, he tells the Warrior of Light that they are ready for their final trial, sending them out with Solkwyb to the Salt Strand in Lower La Noscea. After slaying some weaker monsters, Wyrnzoen appears in a "disguise", alongside other members of the guild in an ambush to push the Warrior of Light to their limits to help unlock the deepest reserves of their strength. When the Warrior of Light bests the Marauders and Wyrnzoen, he congratulates them on their skill and power, and departs back to the guild. When next the Warrior of Light approaches them, he sends them out on to their final mission, to defeat Kujata. He collects Sighard and his grandfather, and takes them to witness the beast's final moments at the hands of the Warrior of Light. He congratulates them on a job well done, and tells them they have nothing else to learn from him. He tells them to continue honing their skills and using life and its experiences to become stronger.

The next time the Warrior of Light sees him, he has challenged Curious Gorge and Broken Mountain to a battle against him and his Marauders, Dorgono amongst them. He arrives in his familiar disguise and tests the strength of the Warriors. During the battle, when Dorgono loses control of her Inner Beast, she sends Wyrnzoen, her fellow guildmates and Curious Gorge flying into the water. After the battle, he leaves Dorgono in their care, hoping they can help her master her Inner Beast and return to her tribe.
