Master Recipe Tomes
- Not to be confused with Expert Recipes.
Master Recipe Tomes are one-time consumable items that unlock the Master Recipes category, which are a separate tab from Special Recipes in the Crafting Log. These tomes can be used by the corresponding crafting classes. Master Recipe Tomes were first introduced in Patch 2.2.
There are three types of Master Recipe Tomes: Glamours, Demimateria, and Crafting. The Crafting tomes contain endgame gear recipes that require both aethersand and ingredients purchased with Allagan Tomestones or Scrips.
Unlock Requirements:
- Quest:
Submission Impossible (or Absolutely Glamourous). - Level 15 in the named Disciple of the Hand class.
Acquisition:
- Tataroga in Mor Dhona (X:22 Y:6)
- Goberin in Vesper Bay (X:12 Y:15)
As of Patch 4.2, glamour prisms are no longer class or level-specific. These Master Tomes will unlock the generic 
Glamour Prism crafting recipe for that Disciple of the Hand class.

These Master Tomes unlock various weapons, gear, and items made with ingredients procured through 
Desynthesis.
Master Recipes: Crafting
Unlock Requirements:
- Quest: Just Tooling Around.
- Level 50 in the named Disciple of the Hand class.
Master I and Master II Tomes
Master I and II Tomes require the submission of various High Quality crafted items to Talan in Mor Dhona (X:22 Y:6). This is due to Scrips not being introduced until Heavensward.
Master III+ Tomes
As of Patch 5.3, all tomes beginning with the Master III series are available under "Master Recipes" from all Scrip Exchange NPCs. You must first unlock Talan and then the relevant level range of the Scrip Exchange before being able to purchase the books.
- Required level to use the books for the named Disciple of the Hand class varies.
- Master III requires level 55, Master IV requires level 60, and they contain Heavensward recipes.
- Master V and VI require level 70, and they contain Stormblood recipes.
- Master VII and VIII require level 80, and they contain Shadowbringers recipes.
- Master IX and X require level 90, and they contain Endwalker recipes.
- Master XI and XII require level 100, and they contain Dawntrail recipes.
New Master Recipe tomes are not expected to be released until patch 8.05.
A new Master Recipe tome set is released with the x.05 patch of an expansion, coinciding with the first savage raid tier, and will cover Master Recipes added with the x.05-.1 patches. Another tome set is then released with the x.2 patch, one week before the second savage raid tier, and will cover all Master Recipes added until the end of the expansion.
