The Shifting Oubliettes of Lyhe Ghiah is a level 80 treasure dungeon introduced in patch 5.4 with Shadowbringers.

Fuath tricksters, renowned for their devilish sense of mischief even amongst the impish fae, have overrun the dungeons beneath Lyhe Ghiah. It is said they have ensorcelled the deepest sanctum with their chaotic magicks, and tempt mortal visitors into playing their "games" with the promise of unearthly riches. Should you stumble upon their hidden domain, know that you gamble your life with every spin of fate's wheel!

Patch 5.4 Special Site

Entering The Shifting Oubliettes of Lyhe Ghiah

  • Level Requirement: Disciple of War or Magic level 80, full party (eight players) recommended.
    • People are free to change their combat classes and jobs inside The Shifting Oubliettes of Lyhe Ghiah.

Should a portal appear when opening a treasure coffer found using a zonureskin map, it will lead to either the Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah or the Shifting Oubliettes of Lyhe Ghiah. The destination will be chosen at random.

Progression

Upon entering the instance, players will find an arcane sphere which must be used to perform an invocation. Doing so will trigger a roulette wheel, summoning forth one of several creatures. The invocation can only be triggered by the owner of the treasure map, and only after opening the previous treasure chest and all loot as been allocated where applicable.

A treasure chest will appear upon defeating the enemies summoned by the invocation. Only the player who opened the teleportation portal can access it. After claiming the contents of the treasure chest, the arcane sphere can be used again, for a total of five invocations.

Effects of Each Outcome

Outcome Effect
Results in a lesser summon.
Results in a greater summon.
Results in an elder summon.
Summons a secret sweeper, expelling the party from the instance. Rarely, the secret sweeper will be destroyed by a mysterious force and replaced with a greater or elder summon.
Causes the arcane circles to shift and causes an elder summon. Once shifted, the board will only have these icons and sweepers on the board, with every outcome on them resulting in elder summons with greater rewards, but the number of sweepers will increase with every successful round.
Summons a stuffed fuath, which will either reward a lot of treasure without a battle or an unknown other outcome.

Chance Opportunities

There are three enemy types that may appear during each round of combat. Depending on the summon encountered, some of these encounters are guaranteed to trigger. For example, the Mandragora summon will always feature the Dungeon crew.

  • Fuath Tricksters; The party is given a limited amount of time to defeat them. Once defeated, they will drop sacks of elemental clusters.
  • The Keeper of the Keys; Rather powerful and should be burned down quickly. They drop a chest full of materia. In some encounters, 3 of these will appear (though they appear to be weaker than normal in that case)
  • Secret Crew (Secret Onion, Secret Egg, Secret Garlic, Secret Tomato, Secret Queen); Five mandragoras will drop from the sky with numbers above their heads. They must be taken out in order of 1 to 5. If done correctly, the reward from the final mandragora is a sizable amount of gil.

Exit

The duty will end if any of the following conditions are met:

  • Five summons are performed and the duty is completed.
  • A secret sweeper is summoned and removes the party from the duty.
  • All party members are KO'd.
