Doman Liberation Front
The Doman Liberation Front is a resistance group in Othard.
About
Goal
Since the founding of the Doman Libeation Front their goal was to free Doma from the Garlean occupation and reclaim independence.
Headquarters
The primary headquarters of the Doman Liberation Front is the House of the Fierce.
History and Background
A few years after the Garlean Occupation of Doma, Lord Kaien started organizing the works of the Liberation Front in secret. For nearly two decades he acted in secrecy while being the deputy viceroy[1] . After the passing of his wife Mina, his son Hien Rijin joined in his pursuit of liberating Doma[2].
With the passing of Emperor Solus the Liberation Front saw it's opportunity to strike, and even managed to reclaim Doma Castle and push the Garlean army out of Yanxia. But their victory was shortlived as the War of Succession ended quickly and Zenos yae Galvus and the XIIth legion marched into Doma. Zenos killed Lord Kaien and Hien disappeared, crushing the rebellion[3].
Following the defeat and the acting viceroy Yotsuyu the people of Doma suffered unknown hardships[4] and the Liberation Front lost support of Doma's people.
Story
Rekindling the Flame of Rebellion
Following the defeat at Rhalgr's Reach, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn plan to rekindle the flames of revolution in Doma to make Zenos fight on two fronts[5].
Once they arrive in Kugane, Gosetsu offers them to lead them to the headquarters in Yanxia and regroup with Yugiri. She and Gosetsu seperated to increase their chance to find Lord Hien. Tansui of the Confederacy reveals that Yotsuyu is purging "Doma's radical elements"[6], which is further explained by Gosetsu when they reach Yanxia[7]. This broke the Doman people and kept them in line to not rise up again[7]. It is obvious after the Scions and Gosetsu are greeted with spite by the people of Namai, once home to brave and true warriors, now fearing the wrath of the Empire - never again wanting to be affiliated with the Liberation Front[8].
When reunited with Yugiri in the House of the Fierce, she reports that she has found Lord Hien in the Azim Steppe, but he was reluctant to return. Knowing of the plight of Doma, he wants Yugiri to bring him evidence that Doma's people are still willing to fight, otherwise he would surrender his life to the Empire[9].
After some investigation and rescuing villagers from a life in servitude [10][11], they receive word that Zenos has come to Doma. Yugiri wants to take the opportunity and kill Zenos[12]. During their ambush the previously saved villagers appear, helping to fight off Zenos and Yotsuyu[13].
We're not going anywhere! Do you hear me!? We're not running away! What you're doing is stupid and reckless and I never wanted any part of it, but here we are! I've spent my whole life hating myself─for every time they made me beg, for every time I held my tongue to protect the people I love. And then you came along and reminded me of all the things I never said and never did, and it was even worse! I would have given anything to forget, to walk away, but I knew that I'd never be able to live with the guilt. So we came─all of us! For you, for ourselves─for Doma!

Reclaiming Doma
With the support of the Doman people rekindled, Yugiri, Gosetsu, Lyse and the Warrior of Light travel to the Azim Steppe to inform Lord Hien that his people choose to fight[14]. Meanwhile, Aliphinaud and Alisaie are undertaking preparations with the remaining Liberation Front forces on the assault on Doma Castle, and aiding where they can[15].
Once returned with Lord Hien, he reclaims his position of leadership. His return spurs the Domans further on to reclaim their homeland[16]. Alisaie explains that they were able to secure the support of the Confederacy and the Blue Kojin, provided Doma agrees to trade agreements[17]. After the events of the Naadam, the Xaela Tribes of the Azim Steppe have also pledged their support to their cause[18].
The Siege on Doma Castle
Alphinaud presented the plan to retake Doma Castle:
- Lyse and the Doman irregulars will conduct a series of raids against imperial targets throughout the surrounding area to draw the garrison's attention.
- Shortly thereafter, the Xaela will launch a surprise attack on the castle's airborne defenses.
- Alphinaud, Alisaie and the shinobi will infiltrate the Moon Gates and disable the magitek field generators.
- Once the barrier is down, the Confederacy and the Blue Kojin will commence to bombard the castle with cannon fire, while sailing west towards the Doman Enclave to secure it.
- After the enclave is secured, the Doman Liberation Front under Lord Hien's command, the Warrior of Light and their allies will lay siege to Doma Castle.
- The castle will be searched for the viceroy and be subdued[19].
Before the Liberation Front lay siege to Doma Castle, the Doman Enclave needs to be secured, since it is home to countless civilians[20]. The Dairyu Moon Gates Magitek generators are disabled with the help of Cid Garlond[21]. Together with the Scions, the Domans secure enough supplies for the siege[22].
Before the attack, Lord Hien decides to change the initial plan[23]:
- Instead of the Blue Kojin helping the Confederacy to secure the Doman Enclave, Lord Hien suggests for them to breach a segment of the outer wall and flood Doma Castle[24] and trap the viceroy in the keep[25].
The following day, once the signal is given, the siege begins.
