Cosmic Fortune

Cosmic Fortune is a game of chance that can be played by spending 1,000 zone-specific credits with Orbitingway in a Cosmic Exploration zone. It is somewhat analogous to the Kupo of Fortune mini-game from Ishgardian Restoration.

Each zone has its own pool of rewards. Common items such as materia and cordials are shared between each zone's drop pool, while rarer items such as mounts, glamour, and minions tend to be specific per zone.

How to Play

Each draw allows players to spin a roulette wheel containing sectors of different sizes. Each sector is associated with a different reward. Players may choose between two different wheels, each with different prize pools. Rewards are randomly selected within a pool for each draw.

Stellar Opportunities

Players have a rare chance to land on the rainbow-colored slice of the roulette wheel, thus obtaining a stellar opportunity. This allows them to re-roll a new roulette wheel with additional, larger sectors (i.e. increased rates) for rare rewards.

A roulette wheel that contains a 100% stellar opportunity chance can also rarely spawn.

Big Bang Tickets

Players who participate as a mech pilot in a mech ops mission and achieve a sufficient contribution during the mission will receive a zone-specific Big Bang Ticket, which allows them to roll a roulette wheel under the influence of a stellar opportunity.

Reward Tiers

Wheel sector colors are in this order from largest (highest odds) to smallest (lowest odds): pink (heart), green (planet), yellow (pudding), blue (music notes), purple (glasses), orange (carrot). Not all sector colors may appear in a given roll: reward sectors are always assigned starting from orange onwards. Rainbow (star) sectors correspond with Stellar Opportunities and have low odds to roll. Wheels when a Stellar Opportunity is active do not have rainbow sectors.

The same color sectors may be split into two or more separate slices in the roulette wheel, but landing on any one will provide the same rewards.

Rewards can generally be categorized as "common", "uncommon", or "rare", with common rewards usually appearing in the largest sectors and rare rewards in the smallest sectors. Items within a category do not necessarily have the same drop rate, and a more finer categorization is possible, although this has not been determined yet.

Each reward is not strictly associated with one sector color, and each sector color does not always have the same chance to roll. For example, one roulette wheel may have the highest-tier (orange) sector assigned to the Vacuum Suit Identification Key with around a 1/20 chance, while a different wheel may have the orange sector assigned to Metallic Cobalt Green Dye with around a 1/6 chance.

The roulette wheels themselves are assigned a rarity from 1 to 4 stars. Higher-star wheels have a greater chance of landing rare rewards, with 4-star wheels yielding 100% rare rewards.
