“The return of night to Norvrandt should have brought peaceful slumber to the Church of the First Light, but within its ruined chapels crawls an uneasy horde of sin eaters. With the aid of the faerie king, you must venture down the pilgrim road to attend an unlikely funeral and grant eternal rest to all who yet yearn for oblivion.
— In-game description
Pilgrim's Traverse (Stones 31-40) is a level 100 deep dungeon introduced in patch 7.35 with Dawntrail. It is the fourth set of floors in Pilgrim's Traverse and the first section of the later part of the dungeon, called the Distant Sanctums. Players may start a new save file from stone 31 upon clearing stone 30 and completing Faerie Tale. Unlike previous deep dungeons, players may use matched parties from this floorset and onwards.

Stone 40 Boss
The arena is surrounded by a dangerous AoE.
- The boss jumps north and spawns two initially untargetable Forgiven Adulation adds.
- Blown Blessing: Your finned foes prepare to spout... The adds will jump away such that the boss and adds are 120 degrees apart. All enemies will then begin glowing the same color: either yellow or blue in a clockwise or counter-clockwise pattern, indicating the order that AoEs will resolve from the markers they leave behind.
- If blue, there will be a late-telegraphed knockback (Saltwater Shot) from the location of the add/boss. Can use knockback immune to prevent two of the three.
- If yellow, there will be a late-telegraphed large point-blank AoE at the location of the add/boss.
- The boss will re-center, and during the third AoE, it will begin casting either Near Tide or Far Tide.
- Near Tide: Large late-telegraphed point-blank AoE.
- Far Tide: Late-telegraphed donut AoE centered on boss.
- The adds will become targetable after they use their AoE and must be defeated before they cast Self-destruct and wipe the party. If solo, the DPS check is relatively lenient compared to the stone 10 boss.
