Quest NPC

"Were it not for me, the Illuminati would never have summoned that infernal machine...or gained the means to control it."

A Xaela of undeniable beauty, Mide was believed to have had a hand in the original plot to summon Alexander. The plan was fundamentally flawed, and Mide could only watch as her accomplice and lover, Dayan, was swallowed into the primal's core. Her sole wish to free Dayan from his gaol, Mide labored in solitude, searching for a means into the core. Ultimately, she perished in the attempt to lock Alexander in time, sparing the realm the brunt of the primal's iron rage. She was but twenty and six.

Additional Information

Mide is a young Au Ra who attempted to summon Alexander with her love, Dayan and their colleagues, in the hopes to utilize the mechanized Primal to better society. Instead, when Alexander appeared, she lost not only her friends, but Dayan as well. The device used to call Alexander, the Enigma Codex shattered, and she made it her mission to find its pieces and bring back Dayan.

When Alexander resurfaced due in part to the machinations of the Illuminati, she joined with the Warrior of Light, Y'shtola, and the members of the Garlond Ironworks to delve into the Primal and disable its cores so the Illuminati could not use it as a weapon, while also seeking the remaining pieces of the Enigma Codex.

After disabling the Midan core, Mide and the group attempted to rescue Roundrox, a Goblin child who had been captured by the Illuminati due to her ability to interface with Alexander. Roundrox however desired to travel back in time and attempt to rescue Dayan. Against everyone's wishes, she did so, and the truth of the original event was made apparent:

The Alexander that Mide saw that day was actually the one they had summoned in the present and had traveled to the past. The Illuminati saw the past Mide and her colleagues near the Enigma Codex and open fire on them, killing them. When Dayan throws himself into harms way to protect Mide, it is revealed that he was actually absorbed by Alexander, and it was unlikely that anything of him remained. Upon returning to the present, Mide comes to the realization that she is stuck in a time paradox, and that the deaths of her friends and loved one were unavoidable. She becomes depressed and refuses to progress any further, seeing no reason to live or fight.

In the final encounter with Alexander and the leader of the Illuminati, Quickthinx Allthoughts, Mide comes to the rescue and fires on Quickthinx at a critical moment, mortally wounding him and ending his plans. Upon attempting to disable the final core, she realized that Dayan's life essence was still within the core, as he somehow survived. In a final act of sacrifice, she sends her companions away and throws herself into the core to stop it, hoping to finally be reunited with her love.

Within Alexander, she is indeed reunited with Dayan, who explains that Alexander was in fact not a malevolent being, and had chosen not to interfere with any timeline, only being forced to by the Illuminati. With them gone, the pair were able to freeze the Primal within a self-contained time portal, freezing it in time.

It was believed that Mide had become trapped in time forever, albeit with Mide, which seemed bittersweet. However, the party eventually learned of a legend stating that two blue-haired Au Ra stepped out of a portal long ago and founded the Hotgo Tribe, indicating that the pair had escaped.
