— In-game description

Sprint is an action unlocked at level 1. It is available for any class or job.

Notes

  • If this action is executed before combat and 20s is granted, entering combat allows the player to retain the rest of the time remaining rather than only 10s when executed during combat.
  • Jog is granted outside of combat regardless of the state when this action is executed, as long as the player is outside of combat by the time the initial Sprint effect expires.
  • Other actions that do not increase enmity such as, but not limited to, will remove Sprint:
    • Mounting
    • Teleporting
    • Returning
    • Entering a Duty
    • Story or Quest-related movement effects
  • This action increases character movement speed by 30%.
  • Jog increases character movement speed by 20% (same as   Peloton).
  • If the effects of   Peloton or   Fleet of Foot are present,   Sprint will overwrite it instead of stacking.

History

  • Patch 7.3 (2025-08-05):
    • The following adjustments have been made to Jog:
      • Jog will now be removed when participating in The Slice Is Right and Crystalline Conflict.
      • Jog will now be removed upon gaining the Transporting status effect. Previously, while the effect of Jog was not active during Transporting, its status icon would still display. This has been addressed, and the icon will now also be removed as intended.
      • When inside a deep dungeon, Jog will now be removed when afflicted with the Sprint Penalty status effect.
  • Patch 7.2 (2025-03-25):
    • Can now be queued for execution, meaning that the action will now successfully execute without potentially needing to press its keybind multiple times in the midst of other actions.
    • Now grants the Jog status upon the expiration of the Sprint effect. Jog grants a more modest speed increase but has unlimited duration. The effect can be manually deactivated (by clicking off its status), and expires when enmity is generated.
  • Prior to Patch 4.0 and the release of Stormblood, Sprint consumed TP during use, and could not be used once TP was depleted. TP itself would be removed in Patch 5.0 with the release of Shadowbringers.
