“Celebrating their pirate heritage, the Maelstrom designed these weapons to resemble the hook used by the infamous Denkyrtrach the Seahawk. His ship seized by means of treachery, Denkyrtrach’s captor spared the pirate, instead taking his sword hand and leaving him to die on an unmanned island in the Cieldalaes. Fortune, however, would smile on the grizzled captain and he was soon rescued. Upon his return to Limsa Lominsa, the Seahawk promptly visited a smith and had himself made a hook of silver to replace his lost limb. Two moons later, the hook found the heart of the man who took Denkyrtrach’s hand, and the rest is history.
