- Something weighs heavy on Thancred's mind.
- As you and your comrades discuss the propensity for fissures to manifest in regions where the barrier between the Source and the void is at its thinnest, Urianger is struck by a dire realization: it is not Garlemald, but the moon with its great voidgate that is most vulnerable to voidsent incursion. Fearing the worst, the group makes ready to depart for Bestways Burrow. Before you leave, Jullus sheepishly hands you a parcel laden with dumplings, asking it be delivered to Zero on the off chance you encounter her. Whether your journey to the moon will lead thence to the Thirteenth remains unclear, but you gladly accept the delicious cargo.
Upon your arrival in Bestways Burrow, Mappingway reveals that the moon is indeed inundated with voidsent, adding that Livingway hasn't been seen since venturing out to activate the brands. You resolve to seek out Livingway─though it is all but certain she is not the only Loporrit in need of rescue...
- You soon encounter a diminutive figure beset by fiends. After making short work of the vile assailants, you pause to ascertain the poor Loporrit's well-being.
- The shaken Loporrit reveals they saw Livingway marching towards the Drowning Brand accompanied by a gaggle of slaughter-bots. You duly set off in search of her.
- As you reach the Drowning Brand, you spot Livingway surrounded by voidsent, the remains of her slaughter-bot retinue scattered across the ground nearby. Dealing swiftly with the fiends, you move to make sure the Loporrit is unharmed.
- Though Livingway is rattled by her ordeal, she appears none the worse for wear. Thanking you profusely for your aid, she informs you that the brands have been activated and further voidsent ingress is unlikely. As if on cue, an almighty roar issues from the crater, casting doubt on that assertion...
- As Livingway laments your inevitable doom, G'raha Tia and Y'shtola rush over. After you brief them on events thus far, Y'shtola's thoughts turn to Zero and Golbez, whose domain lies beyond the voidgate. At the mention of your comrades, vivid memories of your time in the Thirteenth come flooding back, and Azem's crystal begins to glow, resonating with the key in Y'shtola's possession. Floating out of Y'shtola's grasp, it begins to shine ever brighter until a dazzling white light fills your vision, and a mysterious voice echoes in your ears. Naming the key “Ethos,” the voice bids you go forth and unite the stars. With the blinding light now replaced by limitless dark, you have little time to contemplate these words before the key projects a path of golden light unto a radiant portal, from beyond which Golbez and Zero can be heard─evidently in the midst of battle. Without hesitation, you dash forward into the portal, ready to come to their aid.
You emerge onto the void's red moon where your comrades are engaged with a veritable horde of fiends. During a lull in the fighting, a startled Zero notices your presence, explaining that Enuo, a fearsome voidsent from the very depths of the ocean, has come to breach the voidgate. While Zero and Golbez contend with Enuo's underlings, you are to confront the dread fiend.
- ※The Unmaking can be accessed via the Duty Finder.
- Enuo proves a formidable foe, but even with the power of the void at their disposal, they fail to best you and your allies. With the threat now resolved, no doubt Zero will have questions as to how and why you appeared when you did.
- ※In the event that you leave the area, you may return from the Drowning Brand in Mare Lamentorum.
- Back on the red moon, you share news of the voidsent incursion on Etheirys, and learn of Golbez's theory that the barrier separating the Thirteenth and the Source is weakening naturally. Having established a potential explanation for this chain of events, Zero then asks how you came to arrive in the void to begin with. As you describe the golden path to your perplexed comrades, it becomes apparent they can neither see nor interact with it. Realizing that she cannot simply utilize your method to travel to the Source, Zero laments her inability to see her friends once more. Perhaps a particular package of dumplings will serve to lift her spirits.
- Jullus's parcel proves a welcome balm for Zero's melancholy, evoking fond memories of her time in the Source, and leading her to envisage a void in which the existence of cuisine obviated the need for endless consumption of aether. You are left to ponder this hopeful, albeit hard to imagine vision for the Thirteenth...

Dialogue
Jullus was quick to put our words─or rather, those of the Dawnservant─into practice!
You have my heartfelt appreciation. Without your intervention, I have no doubt the casualties would have been far greater.
Voidsent not only absorb the aether of those they consume, but their thoughts as well... With such a legion of minds at their disposal, one hopes they prove a capable ally for Zero.
With the Clyteum's fissure sealed, I daresay the voidsent incursion is at an end.
As you might have gathered, the Dawnservant's wisdom struck a chord... I only hope my words resonate as strongly with the voidsent we met.

Start of voiced cutscene.
The Ilsabard contingent have contained the threat on their front. Things appear to be under control for the time being.
Though it remains unclear why the fissures opened up in the first place. According to Tataru, similar ruptures are occurring across the star.
One thing is clear, however: the phenomenon is not without pattern.
The tendency for fissures to emerge is pronounced in regions deeply connected to the void─places where the barrier between the two worlds is at its thinnest.
...I fear there may be a place in far greater peril than Garlemald.
Though it hath since been sealed, you will recall there is a great voidgate that we ourselves had cause to open.
A gate which was instrumental in our bid to reunite Vrtra with his sister and put an end to Golbez's dark plot.
With our attention fixed upon planar fissures, I failed to consider this vulnerability. All other paths unto the void are but pinpricks in the veil compared to that great lunar rift...
And that rift might be yawning open as we speak. We'd better hurry.
Let us make for Bestways Burrow. I daresay the Loporrits are well aware of current events.
We ought to have Krile join us once she finishes tending to the wounded.
I shall likewise contact Y'shtola. Her knowledge of the moon's voidgate is second to none.
A number of my fellow Garleans now call Mare Lamentorum home... Alphinaud, Alisaie, please see they come to no harm.
We'll be back before you know it!
A quick word, if you will.
I'm not sure whether you'll run into Zero during the course of all this, but if you do...would you give this to her?
Jullus presents a brown paper bag.
Emergency rations, in case of a protracted battle. Can't imagine she's eating all that well in the void.
...She likes dumplings.
The player takes the bag. The scene then shifts to Bestways Burrow, where the Loporrits are in disarray.
We're doomed! Doomed, I say!
Given thy panicked state, I presume the Loporrits too are beset with voidsent...
Oh, what sweet relief it is to see you all!
Yes, voidsent─and lots of them! They suddenly came pouring forth from the crater!
I had dearly hoped to find my worries unfounded...
For some unknown reason, the voidgate seems to have partially opened.
Livingway dashed off to activate the brands and halt the fiends' invasion...
But she hasn't come back, and we've since lost contact!
I suggest we make for the brands without delay.
End of cutscene.
The player is transported to Northern Mare Lamentorum after the cutscene.
Seek out any Loporrits in need and defeat nearby voidsent.
Aid the beleaguered Loporrit.
My valiant savior! I was so frightened I dared not move an ilm...
Oh, you're looking for Livingway? I think I saw her heading southwest, towards the Drowning Brand.
She had several slaughter-bots in tow, but I worry they won't be enough for all the voidsent. You'd better hurry!
Seek out Livingway and defeat nearby voidsent.

Start of voiced cutscene.
Ugh...
I'm saved! I dread to think what would have befallen me if you hadn't intervened!
Oh, I was never in any real danger, of course! I knew you would realize our plight and rush to our rescue!
Etheirys is likewise plagued with voidsent?
If only we'd prioritized further development of the voidsent slaughter-bots. We could have stemmed the tide ourselves!
Oh, what a tremendous demonstration that would have been. Irrefutable proof that I was mankind's staunchest ally, and the greatest Loporrit to ever live! I can practically taste the praise!
Ahem!
Fortunately, I was able to activate the brands. Should any more voidsent emerge from the gate, they ought to be confined to the crater.
Unless, of course, the voidgate begins to expand of its own accord, or some gargantuan monstrosity tries to barge through, I don't foresee any major problems...
A loud sound erupts from the voidgate.
I left the data in Shale's capable hands and teleported here as soon as I heard.
And ere you ask, I made sure to bring the key with me.
Then the real threat yet awaits us.
'Tis Golbez's domain beyond the voidgate...
I wonder how he and Zero are faring.
The player recalls their farewell to Zero and Golbez. They take out Azem's crystal, which glows and reacts with the key.
The crystal and key become attracted to each other. A flash appears, and the player is spoken to by a mysterious voice reminiscent of the Amaurot shades' dialect.
Behold—the gift of Ethos.
Yours is a journey without end, conceived and guided by principle.
Hold fast to what you must, and meet your fate without fear.
Go forth. Discover. Unite the stars unto one.
Let none bar your path.
The key spawns a golden portal with a path of golden light towards it.
The player enters the portal and emerges on the Red Moon. The portal shrinks. A horde of voidsent is attacking. Zero protects the player from an approaching voidsent. Golbez and Zero fight the horde.
What are you doing here!?
What will you say?
A visit felt long overdue!
Only you could be so carefree amidst all this...
No time to explain!
Trust you to state the obvious.
May as well make yourself useful.
The gate's sheer size appears to have made it a tempting target.
A floating figure is seen in the distance.
Enuo... A dread voidsent risen from the benighted depths of the ocean.
They kept to the confines of their domain while Zeromus endured. No longer, it would seem.
And once they had discovered a path to the red moon, they wasted no time in making the journey.
Leave the voidsent nearby to us. You take care of Enuo!
Facing this many foes calls for a more...familiar approach.
Zero turns back into her reaper form.
Voidsent can change their form at will─both Light and Darkness are mine to wield.
Besides, what better to purge Darkness from the void than Darkness itself!
Zero and Golbez continue fighting the voidsent. The player holds Azem's crystal and begins a summoning for seven other party members.
Who dares face me? A mere mortal?
Hast thou come in search of power? Renown?
I fight to end this world without end! All who stand before me shall fall!
Enuo sucks the player into their domain with the portal.
End of cutscene.
Confront Enuo in the Unmaking.
All who dare oppose me shall quake before the silken Dark...
The void's power is mine to wield.
Perish.
Be still.
Accept your downfall.
Doth the yawning rift not tempt you?
The void consumes...
Naught will endure...
Neither past nor future...
Only one certainty remains...
The void's power ravages your corporeal form...
You have no place here.
Struggle is futile.
I've breached the darkness! Let the Light guide you!
The void shall never cease to be!
My power is absolute!
The vacuums grow in number...
The void's power is mine to wield.
And thus did all boundaries cease to be.
Behold the truth of this world!

Start of voiced cutscene.
A nixie appears before Zero.
I'm glad you came. We would have struggled to face Enuo alone.
I presume you journeyed here to prevent more voidsent from passing through the gate?
With Enuo defeated, there are none left in this realm who pose a serious threat. I daresay the problem is resolved.
What will you say?
Alas, voidsent have been emerging from fissures across the Source...
Cause for alarm, indeed. Tell us more.
Have you noticed any abnormalities in the void of late?
Nothing comes to mind. Why do you ask?
So the breach wasn't limited to the voidgate...
For better or worse, precious little has changed in the Thirteenth since Zeromus fell.
Have you noticed anything unusual?
I know not the reason events have unfolded this way, but there is, perhaps, an explanation as to why the voidgate and the fissures opened.
Here in my domain, even the slightest change is keenly felt...
When the gate opened, I sensed not the workings of some external force.
Rather, it felt as if the barrier between our worlds was weakening naturally, moment by moment, until the two came to meet.
And you think this...weakening could be happening elsewhere?
What of Radz-at-Han and Garlemald?
Jullus took mercy upon the interloper?
Whether voidsent or Garlean, we all share the same longing for home.
Should we meet, I will gladly offer them aid. Please tell Jullus as much.
Wait─how exactly did you get here? No mortal could traverse the voidgate in its current state.
The player explains the golden portal from Ethos.
And this path of yours is still there...? I cannot see it.
Nor does it reveal itself to me. Perhaps the path serves only the key-bearer.
So it is not a means to travel freely back and forth. A pity. I would have liked to see my friends again...
Now seems an opportune time to give Zero the parcel Jullus prepared for her.
End of cutscene.
Deliver the package of dumplings to Zero.
That key of yours intrigues me. Had my former self known of its existence, I might have sought different means to reach the Source...
That smell... Food, is it?
Ah, I recall Jullus speaking of the dumplings his mother used to make.
Thank you for the parcel...and the fond memories.
There's more than enough to share with Golbez. Now that he forgoes the aether of others, I'm sure he'll appreciate the sustenance.
I sometimes wonder what the void would be like if culinary traditions flourished here once more─whether it would suffice to break the cycle of mutual consumption. A heartening thought, if nothing else...
