General

• Permitted file types: png, gif, jpg, jpeg, webp
• Recommended resolution: 72 dpi
• Recommended file size: < 500kb (preferably < 200kb)
• Do not overwrite existing images unless there is a need to do so (such as uploading a better image).

File Naming

• Only use the name of the page for an image if it is an infobox image.
  • The file name should be the same as the page name (case-sensitive!), using underscores for spaces:
    • Example: Classical_Cane.jpeg
  • Apostrophes and most other special characters should be included, such as Adjudicator's_Staff.jpeg, File:Hingan Fence (Mokuzo).jpg
• If not an infobox image, the name of the image should still include the subject of the image.

Infobox Images

In most cases infoboxes will automatically display images with the same name as the page. If necessary, specify the infobox image using the "image" parameter.

• Example: "image = something_else.jpg"

Size and Aspect Ratio

• Image must be at least 280 px in width.
• Image should use a 1:1 ratio if possible.
  • Exception: NPC Infobox Images should use a 4:5 ratio.
• If a 1:1 ratio is not suitable, up to a 2:3 ratio will display properly.
  • Use your judgment - some subjects will lend themselves better to wide images.
  • Aim for consistency within the same category of items.

Clarity

• Aim for contrast between the subject and the background.
  • Using Group Pose lighting options and depth of field can help separate the subject from the background.

Gear & Weapons

• A mannequin model should be used for gear and weapon infobox images.
  • This is to place focus on the item, not the character holding/wearing it.
• Additional images of gear worn by characters should be placed in the page gallery.

NPCs

• Ratio should be 4:5
• Display name should be turned off
• The infobox image should be fairly close up, generally from the waist up.
• Group Pose lighting options are useful to brighten the appearance of an NPC in a dark place or at night.
• If possible, a full-body image showing the NPC in all their gear should be added to the "Images" section.

Hairstyles

Hairstyle images should go on the hairstyle page, not the unlock item page. Example:

• 1 Do place screenshot of 'Styled for Hire' hair on Styled for Hire Hairstyle.
• 0 Do not place screenshot of 'Styled for Hire' hair on Modern Aesthetics - Styled for Hire.

Housing Items

• If possible, use neutral fixtures as a backdrop such as the minimal interior design, with the Pure White Interior Wall or White Marble Flooring.
• Check out the Housing Galleries for examples of other infobox images for each type of housing item.
• 0 Do not include other items in the infobox image. The image should only show the item the page is about.
• If possible, provide a photo of the item placed with another object such as a summoning bell can be used to show relative size.
  • Example: Everkeep Mixing Booth
  • For outdoor furniture, place the item next to the house.
    • Example: Cosmic Antenna
