“"A tent will not save you from a pack of hungry gedan or a herd of stampeding mammoths. They will not stay the spears of an angry Budugan warrior consumed by bloodlust. No, a tent is but a place to lay your head when the wind and rain are at their worst. Which is why even now, we must remain vigilant."

Lore
“"No more blood need be spilled this day!"
The niece of the khan is regarded by his[1] children as an older sibling, owing to their close relationship. Tragically, her parents and husband were claimed by a sickness, and for a long time she nursed an all-consuming sadness. However, in her endless travels with her tribe, she has slowly come to terms with her loss, and has begun to look to the future with hope once more. Owing to her mother's Qalli heritage, the woman of twenty-eight summers is a talented singer and poet--so much so that Altani cannot help but steal glances at her whenever possible. She also enjoys cooking, and is quite proud of her khorkhog recipe.— Encyclopedia Eorzea vol 2, page 112, "Sokhtai of the Dataq"
Dialogue
Sokhatai: While Anarba hunts, I tend to his other weapons. A bowstring needs constant attention if it is to serve him well on the steppe.
- ↑ Clarification: "regarded by his children" meaning Khalja khan's children have an opinion about Sokhtai.
