Interject
Interject
“Interrupts the use of a target's action.
— In-game description
Interject is an action unlocked at level 18. It is available for Tank.
Additional Information

Interrupt is a status effect introduced in Shadowbringers (5.0). It replaced Silence for player use.
When an enemy is casting an attack that can be interrupted, the cast bar will display red with a pulsing effect (as opposed to the standard orange, with no pulse).
If a player uses an action with an interrupt effect before the cast finishes, then the cast will be stopped, and the word "Interrupted!" will display over the bar.

Once an enemy has been interrupted, they will stand idle until the time when their cast would have finished - meaning there is no functional difference between interrupting closer to the start or end of a cast.
Strategy
In the vast majority of cases, if an attack can be interrupted, then it probably should be interrupted. These attacks tend to deal a lot of damage, give the boss a buff, debuff the party in some way, etc.
There are a few exceptions to this, primarily with magic-based enemies that have several interruptible spells (such as succubi and elemental sprites). In such cases, carefully observe the enemy's attacks to deteremine which attacks should be interrupted, and which can be ignored.
- Generally speaking, the attacks that should be interrupted tend to have longer cast times.
- One notable example is the Fleshless Captive mini-boss in The Sirensong Sea. This enemy will cast "Dark", which is a circle AoE; immediately followed by "Seductive Scream", which is a room-wide AoE that inflicts Seduced, forcing party members to approach the boss; followed by "Flood", a circular AoE centered on the boss. Dark is meant to bait the player into wasting an interrupt, while Seductive Scream is the most-dangerous attack and the one that should be interrupted.
