Ephemeral Nodes

Ephemeral Nodes are timed gathering nodes and do not have additional requirements to spawn aside form their time window.

Ephemereal Nodes behave differently from the other types of timed nodes (Unspoiled Nodes and Folklore Nodes) in several ways:

• Ephemeral Nodes do not display on the minimap with a direction indicator, so players will need to use Lay of the Land or Arbor Call to locate them.
• Ephemeral Nodes spawn in clusters of three nodes, and will continually respawn like normal nodes during within their time window. Ephemeral Nodes are active for 4 Eorzea Time (in-game) hours.
• If a player closes the in-game gathering window on an Ephemeral Node, it will still remain available if it had remaining integrity (similar to nomal gathering nodes).
• When the Empheremal Nodes' time window ends, the node will disappear and the player will be unable to gather items. Any in-game gathering windows will immediately close, even if the node still had remaining integrity.

Collectable items  gathered from Ephemeral Nodes are used for Aetherial Reduction. Each collectable may reduce into crystals, clusters, and a particular type of aethersand.

• Players can unlock Collectables by completing the level 50 quest Inscrutable Tastes.
• Players can unlock Aetherial Reduction by completing the level 56 quest No Longer a Collectable.
• The higher the collectability of the item is, the greater are the chances of getting higher quantity of items. Aethersand appears less frequently when collectability is less than the maximum.
