When a golem is not properly maintained for an extensive period, it becomes a mudman. The rocks and stones that make up its outer layer fall away, leaving behind a ghoulish form more befitting an undead creature—and perhaps reflecting it suffering during untold years of neglect. Along with its body, the magicks governing its actions fall into disrepair, and the once-dutiful servant becomes naught but a mindless machine of mayhem.
