The Striped Hills

According to Sharlayan scholars, the horizontal stripes which mark the landscape east of the Velodyna River are evidence that the land once laid beneath the sea. The older layers are thought to have gradually risen above the surface, pushed upwards by immense pressures during the formation of Abalathia's Spine.

— In-game description

The Striped Hills is an area in The Fringes.
