Dimwold

A gloomy forest occupying the southern expanse of East End. Drenched by the waters of Timmon Beck and numerous subterranean springs, the air beneath the boughs is laden with moisture, giving rise to a constant veil of light-smothering mist.

Stormblood Sightseeing Log 5: Dimwold

Dimwold is an area in The Fringes, Gyr Abania.

Landmarks

Once a seasonal retreat for local hunters, the building was abandoned when the Empire conquered Ala Mhigo. This weathered cabin also provided an isolated sanctuary for Sanche and her daughter, Gatty, who was but an infant when the pair fled Gridania years ago.

— Encyclopedia Eorzea, Vol II

Fabled to have been formed by the passage of Rhalgr's guiding star in the time of the Sixth Umbral Calamity, this stony corridor is aglow with an ethereal incandescence. Though the legend is the more romantic interpretation, scholars have determined that the emission of light is caused by a unique mineral deposit buried within the rock.
