Born to a lesser house of Ishgard, this twenty-seven-year-old machinist of the Skysteel Manufactory came to resent high society and bemoan his noble birth. However, he saw a kindred spirit in Stephanivien, a fellow lord who openly defied the expectations of his station. And so, when the end of the Dragonsong War brought great change to Ishgard, Rimelnaud, eager for a change of his own, strode into the manufactory to join Stephanivien's cause.
Despite his disdain for the trappings of tradition, Rimelnaud's strict upbringing instilled within him a powerful chivalry, and the young lord resolved to serve the greater good by joining the Ilsabard contingent. After they journeyed north and established a base of operations, the machinist was tasked with ceruleum procurement, which led him to negotiate with engineers of Tapper's Den, and in turn saw him acquainted with Appius eir Callaecus. When not occupied with his duties, Rimelnaud enjoys tinkering with inventions of his own design-his latest project being a coffee-roasting apparatus.
