House Durendaire is considered the foremost of the noble houses of Ishgard, and Count Charlemend stands at its head. Thus, when such a dignitary is seen skulking about the Firmament, it could scarcely go unnoticed. What manner of surreptitious business could have brought the man to the newly rebuilt district? All will be revealed in a tale of unlikely friendship set amidst an era of change.
To deliver items, players need to be a Disciple of the Hand or Land at level 70+. The client's satisfaction level will also increase.
Items with a higher collectability will earn greater gil and scrip rewards.
The satisfaction gain is fixed, as long as the item meets the minimum collectability requirement.
EXP gain scales according to the player's current level, but it does not increase with higher collectability.
The rewards given vary by the NPC's satisfaction level at the time of the delivery.
(Note: Orange scrip yields changed as of Patch 7.51. It seems that old NPCs' yields were raised to the new NPC yield, and the actual newest NPC (Tiisol Ja) has an even higher yield than that. Estimated but unconfirmed data is marked with asterisks.)
Note: Nitowikwe gives 141 orange scrips for tier 3, instead of 140.
Bonus
When an item category is on bonus (only possible for NPCs at level 5), the rewards are multiplied by 1.5x (rounded down), resulting in the following rewards:
Lest you forget, Forename, our task is to replenish the infirmary's stores of daily necessities─dining utensils, bedding, and the like. We thank you for your kind assistance.
Excellent, these necessities will serve our patients well. Cleanliness being of the essence, I will see to disinfecting these ere they are put to use. But first, a little inspection for good measure...
Brought us some lye, have you? Excellent. The infirmary ever has need of soap, and this will make a goodly amount of the stuff. Now, if I might take a closer look...
Brought us a scallop, have you? Excellent. The infirmary ever has need of soap, and the powder obtained from its shell will make a goodly amount of the stuff. Now, if I might take a closer look...
Well, sure. Most things anyway. I mean, who else is goin' to do it for us? Same with the cleanin'─we do that ourselves too.
Ooh, I know! Next time, I'll teach you how to clean. Dustin' and moppin' and all that. We have to do these things regularly. After all, cleanliness is next to healthiness!
Charlemend is pleased with your efforts. He now considers you an Aide's Able Associate!
And yet there is still much work to be done if he is to atone for past negligence and provide a shining example for the future of Ishgard. To that end, Charlemend has a new favor to ask of you...
Allow me to thank you all for replenishing the daily necessities. It shall keep us for a good while.
And with Charlemend tutoring Maelie while managing our stores, my fellow nurses and I find our burden greatly lightened. All of which is to say you are doing well.
That being the case, I have a mind to task you with replenishing and managing our medical supplies as well. Do you think you will be up to the task?
From metal receptacles to cloth bandages, medical equipment must be made to exacting standards. Having come from your hands, I expect this will be more than satisfactory, but it would be remiss of me not to perform an inspection. If you'll excuse me...

Ah, yes, from this variety of kelp, we can distill an extract with potent disinfecting properties─that is, assuming the specimen is sufficiently lush. Let us take a closer look...
Maelie is truly a fast learner. It doubtless stems from her fervent desire to help others.
While I do not want for the selfsame desire, the old hound that I am, 'tis all I can do to keep up.
Charlemend is delighted with your efforts. He now considers you an Aide's Avid Assistant!
And yet there is still much work to be done if he is to atone for past negligence and provide a shining example for the future of Ishgard. To that end, Charlemend has a new favor to ask of you...
I took the liberty of inspecting our inventory, and I'm pleased to say that all is in good order. The two of you are doing a fine job of managing the medical supplies.
I have a nephew, you see─a boy of an age with Maelie─and I daresay I see him in her.
With my brother passed and firstborn lost, I took him under my wing as my successor, teaching him such knowledge as he needs to one day lead our knights in battle against the dragons.
Yet now that the Dragonsong War has ended, we must dedicate ourselves not to the taking of life, but the bettering of it.
However, not all of our countrymen have embraced change. And as a father figure to my nephew, I felt that I must needs practice that which I preach.
Leading by example, I wished to give him a glimpse of a new Ishgard, one where there is no highborn and lowborn─just fellow Ishgardians striving together for a better tomorrow.
By that, I must confess that I do not have only the interests of the patients in mind. 'Twas wrong of me not to disclose this fact from the first, and I beg your forgiveness.
No apologies are necessary, Charlemend. Whatever your reasons, you've been naught but an asset to the infirmary. You and Maelie both.
Thus do I have a mind to entrust the two of you with even more responsibilities.
Many of our patients have debilitating injuries, and are in need of rehabilitation. I want you to assist them in their efforts. This is an important task, one that requires you to work closely with the patients.
Now, rehabilitation demands a variety of sophisticated equipment, such that can only be provided by skilled artisans. To wit, Forename, we must turn to you once more.
End of cutscene.

Safety is paramount when it comes to rehabilitation, and any equipment used must be sturdy and durable. Having come from your hands, I expect this will be more than satisfactory, but it would be remiss of me not to perform an inspection. If you'll excuse me...

Rehabilitation is all too often a painful process, but from this frog's poison, we can concoct a medicine that effectively dulls pain. Now, if I might take a closer look at the critter...
No, no, nothing of the sort. It's just...I can't help but worry whether I will be able to assist our patients appropriately. What if they do not improve, or worse yet, end up suffering more pain?
Yes... Yes, you have the right of it. I shall do as you say, and imagine their pain as mine own. Come, let us have Maurilette instruct us at once!
Charlemend is overjoyed with your efforts. He now considers you an Aide's Ardent Ally!
And yet there is still much work to be done if he is to atone for past negligence and provide a shining example for the future of Ishgard. To that end, Charlemend has a new favor to ask of you...
End of cutscene.
A new quest continuing the story of Charlemend's efforts at Ser Vaindreau's Grace is now available from Maurilette. Upon its completion, the Custom Deliveries list for Charlemend will be updated.
In a snow-swept nation such as ours, nobles and commoners alike are partial to a steaming cup of tea served with sweets. These items will allow us to host an event that our patients will enjoy. Now, if I might take a closer look...
In a snow-swept nation such as ours, nobles and commoners alike are partial to a steaming cup of tea served with sweets. Using this ingredient, we can prepare a toothsome syrup that our patients will enjoy. Now, if I might take a closer look...
I am told that, in the Far East, it is customary to burn incense when drinking tea. Using such delightful seashells as incense burners, we can fill the room with a soothing scent. Now, if I might take a closer look...
Thanks to you, we now have everything we require. 'Tis time to prepare the venue for the high tea. Come, let us go and put smiles on our patients' faces.
Full glad am I to see our patients so enjoying themselves. Long as many of them must stay here, what little additional comfort we can provide goes a long way. And as an unexpected benefit...
...It served to break down the barriers to which my nephew had clung.
Charlemend could not be happier with your efforts. He now considers you an Aide's Attentive Angel!
Through your efforts, the patients of Ser Vaindreau's Grace have never enjoyed better conditions. It seems, however, that Charlemend has a different sort of favor to ask of you...
Not only did the event unfold smoothly─by participating in it, my nephew has begun to warm to the idea of a new Ishgard. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.
Going forward, 'tis my intent to host high teas on a regular basis, meaning we will continue to require the relevant supplies. I hope you will keep obliging us, Forename─with those items as well as the usual necessities.
And you, Forename. We are indebted to you more than words can well express.
You have done all of us at Ser Vaindreau's Grace a great service, and I pray that you will continue to lend us your expertise.
Speaking of which...there is one other favor I had been meaning to ask of you.
Though I have been disguising myself─leastwise, that was my intent─I have failed to fool a single person.
As such, I shall shed with disguises, and strive instead to dress in a manner that would better endear myself to citizens and patients both. Whenever you have a spare moment, I would greatly appreciate your insights on outfits.
End of cutscene.
Future requests will be selected at random from all those you have seen thus far, with the list refreshed once a week (Earth time).
You may review the items currently in demand at any time by speaking with Charlemend and selecting Make a delivery.
Note that art supplies, art supply materials, and fragrant sweetfish will earn you particularly handsome rewards. Whenever they make an appearance, the effort to procure them will be worth your while.
Furthermore, Charlemend's appearance may now be altered through the use of glamours.
Painting provides not only a means of relaxation, but rehabilitation besides. These supplies will allow our patients to enjoy the benefits of exercising their artistry as they continue their journey of healing. Now, if I might take a closer look...

Ah, yes, this fish is considered a delicacy even among nobility. As tasty as it is nutritious, it will allow us to prepare meals that nourish the body even as it pleases the palate. Now, if I might take a closer look...
I'm pleased to say that our patients have been making excellent progress with their rehabilitation. And in the course of working together, I have managed to strike up a rapport with many of them.
It does me well to see the younger generation embrace change. After all, 'tis they who shall lead Ishgard unto the future. Not to say that I won't do my part, but I must work hard if I am to keep up with their youthful vigor!
I've not forgotten that you are a busy womand/man, Forename. I am truly grateful that you should see fit to lend us so much of your assistance, and not only here at the infirmary.
Among other things, House Durendaire owes much of her newfound prosperity to you.
Your coming and subsequent ending of the Dragonsong War wrought great changes. Changes that many Ishgardians─myself among them─struggled to accept.
But I believe I speak for an ever-growing number of my countrymen when I say we appreciate all that you have done, and continue to do, for our nation.
On behalf of all Ishgardians, I give you my humblest thanks.
