Etymology
Naita Aka Oni (The Red Oni Who Cried) is a children's book first published in 1933. It tells the tale of a blue Oni who sacrifices himself so the red Oni may become friends with humans. The story is still very popular in Japan and is often referenced in japanese media.
A scimitar is a single-edged sword with a convex curved blade. It is associated with Middle Eastern, South Asian and North African cultures.
