A student of the Studium and member of the Faculty of Astronomy, Jude is close friends with Jeromere, a boy one year his senior, who came to his rescue in their youth when he was being bullied by other children. One day, when taking part in an astronomer's workshop, the two discovered a mysterious blue light in the heavens above. They believed it to be an unidentified celestial body, but since no one could verify the sighting, their claims were dismissed. Undeterred, they vowed to one day rediscover the Azure Star, and ten years later, the young man of nineteen summers believed their ambition finally within reach. With the aid of a newly met artisan, he was able to fashion a telescope powerful enough to realize this childhood dream. He has since been able to broaden his interests, and greatly enjoys the company of his peers in the poetry club, with whom he dines frequently.
