Notes

Gameplay

  • Though white mages begin with a use of Afflatus Misery available, it is recommended to delay using it until all raid buffs are active to deal more damage, which typically only takes 5-8 seconds after combat begins with a competent group.
  • Healing with lilies during uptime is damage positive when below level 82. This is because four uses of Glare is equal to 1,160 potency, compared to Afflatus Misery dealing 1,240 potency.
  • Though Afflatus Misery is mathematically damage-neutral with Glare III, it is typically a damage-gain to always have a use available for raid buffs. This is especially true if there are multiple enemies. Overcapping on healing lilies is therefore a damage-loss if it leads to entire usages of Afflatus Misery being lost.
  • It is best to nurture the Blood Lily during downtime, or out of combat. This allows white mages to prevent overcapping on healing lilies while progressing towards another usage of Afflatus Misery. Ending any instance with the Blood Lily partially bloomed is damage-negative if it was not nurtured during downtime.
  • It is still important to have healing lilies available if needed, as spells such as Cure II or Medica II / Medica III will result in lost damage if that cast could have been spent on Afflatus Solace or Afflatus Rapture respectively, instead. If extra healing is required, however, it is expected to not let any party members be KO'd as a result of insufficient healing, even if it means casting spells such as Cure II, Medica III, or Cure III; KO'd party members deal no damage, especially if they are a DPS.
