Used For
Thavnairian Onion is a Chocobo Food that can be used to train or summon your Chocobo Companion.
- Players will need to use Thavnairian Onion in their Chocobo training to increase its rank beyond 10.
- Alternatively, players can use the Thavnairian Onion while their Chocobo is summoned in the field (must be outside a city). The Onion can only be used if the Chocobo's current rank EXP bar is at maximum.
- Warning: Using the onion while in a major city will result in a wasted onion even if the Chocobo has summoned time remaining. The onion MUST be used in either stable training or a combat area.
- Note: Due to the difficulty and time investment of acquiring these through gardening, which requires home ownership, this item sells for a high value on the Market Board. Players who receive the 2 Thavnairian Onions from quest rewards are strongly advised not to accidentally dispose of them even if they do not plan on training their Chocobo.
- For players on the Free Trial (where the market board, trading, and home ownership are unavailable), they can obtain additional Onions through the Tenant system - another player who owns a house designates the Free Trial player as a Tenant, and gives them gardening permissions, which allows them to harvest Onions from the homeowner's garden.
