Sanction is a beneficial status effect: "Receiving the gear-enhancing benefits of a Grand Company sanction."

The buff enhances the properties of Grand Company gear that include a "Sanction Effect". The buff can be gained by using a Sanction scroll or by speaking with the mage at Grand Company Headquarters.
