Seeking to enhance a chocobo’s worth on the battlefield, Hannish alchemists concocted a devilish brew that would stimulate the birds' sanguine humours, thus igniting the fire-aspected aether slumbering in their veins. According to the alchemists, it would grant the cloudkin the ability to rain powerful magicks upon their enemies—and it did. However, it also made the chocobos overly excitable, resulting in the escape of nearly all their stock—stock that soon grew feral.
