Due to its physical resemblance to an oliphant or a marid, one might think this scalekin somehow related to the pair; however this could not be further from the truth. Scholars believe the similarities can be attributed to naught more than a rare case of convergent evolution, and instead claim the creature consanguineous with an adamantoise—its long nose, actually a hyperextended mouth.
