Forte (PvP)
Creates a barrier around self that reduces damage taken by 50% and absorbs damage equivalent to a heal of 4,000 potency.
Duration: 5s
Grants Thorned Flourish when barrier is completely absorbed.
Duration: 10s

Forte (PvP) is an action unlocked at level 30. It is available for Red Mage.

Notes
- The damage reduction effect will persist for as long as the barrier effect is active. This means incoming damage dealing more than the barrier's strength will still be reduced. An example is the damage of Marksman's Spite being reduced to 14,000.
- Opponents will typically refrain from attacking a red mage with the barrier active. For this reason, it is not recommended to lead engagements with the barrier active. Red mages may instead execute Forte during an incoming combo of attacks as a method of "countering" and increasing the likelihood that the barrier is spent, allowing for a usage of Vice of Thorns.
- The barrier from Forte is given priority when taking damage. This is to increase the odds of granting
Thorned Flourish.
- Other priority barrier effects, such as those from The Blackest Night and
Eukrasian Diagnosis from Eukrasian Dosis III will stack with and take priority over Forte's barrier. This may cause an unwanted interaction wherein Thorned Flourish is not granted due to the short timer of Forte. The damage reduction effect of Forte, however, will stack and work with any existing barriers – even those with their own damage reduction effects, including those from Radiant Aegis.
