Joyeuse is a holy blade that was crafted in recognition of the birth of Ul'dah and the Sultansworn. This, alongside the Curtana, Durandal and Oathkeeper were all created from the same ore, and are sister blades. This was gifted to one of the first Paladins of the Sultansworn.
Etymology
In real life, Joyeuse is the legendary emperor Charlemagne's personal sword.
