Electrope

Electrope is a lightning-aspected material that is omnipresent in Alexandrian society and has enabled their rapid technological advancement. It takes the appearance of a black stone etched with purple runes.
History
Electrope was made usable by the Lalafell natives of the South Sea Isles after they escaped to the reflection containing Alexandria to avoid the Sixth Umbral Calamity. Its scarcity led to worldwide conflict in wars such as the Storm Surge, resulting in the destruction of much of old Alexandria. The material was introduced to the Source after interdimensional fusion of the Alexandrian citadel of Everkeep with the Yyasulani region of Tural.
Uses
Electrope can be used to convert lightning-aspected aether into other elements (e.g., fire, wind, water, earth) which can be used in numerous technological innovations. It also serves as a core building material for all Alexandrian structures, such as those in Solution Nine.
Trivia
Electrope may have been inspired by the real-life element silicon, which is widely used in semiconductors and "etched" in a process called photolithography during the production of microchips. The process results in extremely intricate nano-scale patterns that form electrical circuits, similar to the highly complex patterns seen on Electrope. The use of microprocessor technology has transformed modern society.
