Twelve Archons

The Twelve Archons are a group of twelve renowned individuals, all extremely dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, who foresaw the coming of the Sixth Umbral Calamity. Along with Nyunkrepf Nyunkrepfsyn, they built a massive vessel named Nyunkrepf's Hope with the intent to sail the now rising sea and rescue the people of Eorzea.

Upon the eve of the Calamity, the Twelve Archons set sail. When the tides turned foul, they saved many a poor soul that couldn't evacuate in time and were washed away on the waves. Though they saved a great number of people, the tides grew steadily worse, until they faced down a wave so massive it would reduce the ship to splinters. In a last-ditch attempt to save everyone, Nyunkrepf cast a powerful spell, moving everyone, ship and all, to safety.

After landing in Gyr Abania, and realizing the mountains were already inhabited and surviving here would be a struggle, Nyunkrepf and the Twelve Archons, followed by those they saved, made for The Northern Empty in order to forge a new life. These people would go on to create the city-state of Sharlayan.
