Player Commendation
Upon completing a duty (instanced group content such as dungeons, trials, and raids), each party member has the option of giving one other player a player commendation. These should be given to a party member who left a favorable impression.
Player commendations can only be given to players who were matched with the party if it was not fully premade. For example, two DPS and one healer in a premade party queue for 
Duty Roulette and are matched with a random tank. When the dungeon is completed, the DPS and healer can only commend the tank if they decide to leave a commendation, while the tank can choose to commend any one of the other three players.
In alliance raids, players can only commend other people who were in the same 8-person party as them.
For keyboard/mouse players, commendations may quickly be given by double-clicking on the portrait of the recipient party member, or name if no portraits are available.
Players who accumulate Player Commendations will unlock various rewards. Additionally, 
Leaving a Better Impression I is one of the five requirements to qualify for 
Battle Mentor status.
Obtaining
Players can obtain commendations "naturally" through their normal activities or may choose to go out of their way to "farm" them. Support roles (tanks and healers) have a tendency to receive more commendations compared to DPS. A common way of farming commendations is to queue as a support role for the 
Under the Armor Guildhest due to its extremely short time to complete. It is not advised for players to explicitly ask in party chat for commendations.
