Island Cropland

The Island Cropland is a feature added with the Island Sanctuary in Patch 6.2 where the player can grow crops from seeds gathered on the island or exchanged for Seafarer's Cowries.

Cropland Upgrades and Unlock Condition

The Cropland is unlocked by following the Island Sanctuary tutorial questline.

It can be upgraded to increase the maximum number of crops the player can grow. Upgrades cost Seafarer's Cowries and take time to complete (Earth hours).

Crops take 48 hours to grow and yield 5 crops and 120 island experience per plot when harvested. (Crops maintained by the gardening services do not yield any experience.)

Because there are 20 maximum Cropland slots and 20 types of produce, it is possible to have all produce types growing at once, unlike with the Island Pasture.

Purchasing Seeds

After the last upgrade is completed, the player can begin buying seeds from the Produce Producer. These seeds cannot be gathered on the island.

Gardening Services

Gardening Services are unlocked along with the last upgrade. For a daily fee of  5 Seafarer's Cowries per crop, a Gardener can be hired to take care of the crops. The fee is deducted by the daily reset at 1 a.m. (PDT).

How to Use Gardening Services

After the cropland has been upgraded to the third level, a tool to unlock Gardening Services will be added to the crafting log. Once the tool has been crafted, talking to the Produce Producer about the gardening services will unlock the feature.

The Gardener can keep a maximum of 50 harvests and the player will have to talk to it to get the items, they won't automatically be added to the island inventory.

The Gardener will suspend its crop maintenance for a plot if the player runs out of seafarer's cowries, the player's supply of seeds is exhausted, or if the maximum yield of 50 is reached.

How to start using the services:

1. Open Garden Management through the "Review status" dialogue option
2. Select a crop (right-click on PC)
3. Choose Entrust to Gardener and confirm

How to stop using the services:

1. Select the crop in Garden Management
2. Choose Dismiss Gardener
