Template:Status effect/doc
This template is designed to format status effect icons. When possible, use {{game icon}}/{{i}} instead. Old status pages may need to have the {{Status effect infobox}} applied in order for {{game icon}} to work.
Status pages and their icons are currently being created on an as-needed basis as part of the Status effect revamp project; contact Gurgum (talk) in Discord if you need any older status pages or icons. Gurgum (talk) 17:06, 12 September 2026 (UTC)

Parameters
- type (unnamed parameter 1)
- Either buff or debuff.
- name (unnamed parameter 2)
- Status effect identifier or icon file. Identifiers are all lowercase and are listed in the table below. If this value isn't one of those values, it should be the icon file to display with the
File:prefix and file extension. - link
- Optional. Link location for the icon. Only works if name is a file; the predefined identifiers all have links already.
For backwards compatibility reasons, the type parameter is optional and defaults to debuff. This usage is deprecated and will eventually be removed. New uses should always specify type, and existing uses where no type is specified should be updated.
Assigns Categories
- Category:Pages with no status effect type specified when only name is specified.
- Category:Pages with invalid status effect type when type is an invalid value.
- Category:Pages with status effect specified by filename when name is a filename instead of one of the recognized values.
