Regarding Minfilia in 1.0

A recently-added footnote states that the young girl Ascilia in 1.0 was not originally intended to be Minfilia, and that this must be a retcon because Minfilia was an adult woman in 1.0. But it is my understanding that the parade sequence in the Ul'dah opening of 1.0 was meant to be a flashback to an earlier time, as are certain scenes in all three introductions; the Echo was just not nearly as clearly delineated in 1.0, and so this caused confusion. I'd be interested in clarification or confirmation that this is indeed a retcon. Anneapocalypse (talk) 15:30, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

It may still be a retcon (we do not know) but yes, all Ascilia sequences are Echo flashbacks and are happening in the past of 1.0. Clyncyerudje (talk) 21:27, 16 August 2026 (UTC)

Given further thought, i'm going to remove it entirely because if it is a retcon, it's not one we have confirmed and the current state of the footnote is misinformation due to a misunderstanding 1.0 Echo sequences. Clyncyerudje (talk) 23:45, 16 August 2026 (UTC)
