The arena is surrounded with an AoE that will instantly kill anyone who steps in it. Note that there are four avian statues, one at each intercardinal, that are important for several mechanics.
- Lamplight: Party-wide magical damage.
- Dread Dive: Telegraphed physical tankbuster.
- Molt: The boss will telegraph 4 attacks in sequence: a knockback, donut AoE, or plus-shaped AoE. Each attack type will be shown at least once.
- Once the cast finishes, the boss will teleport to a random statue and use the attack centered on its new location. It will then teleport to a different statue and use the next attack, and so on.
- If knockback, players will need to position to be knocked across the length of the arena or use knockback immune. The knockback also inflicts minor magical damage (Blowout).
- If donut, players will need to move close to the boss.
- If plus, players will need to move away (melee range is not safe). The plus AoE will always be oriented true north and strike the middle of the arena.
- Flock of Souls: The boss spawns two untargetable clones on opposite statues. One clone will telegraph an attack used in Molt, followed by the other, followed by the first again, and finally the second again, for a total of four sequential telegraphs. Players will need to remember the order of the attacks and which clone had which one.
- Once the cast bar fills, the clones will teleport to the unoccupied statues (still remaining opposite each other), then the first clone will use its attack, followed by the second clone.
- Meanwhile, the boss will cast either Shades' Nest (a telegraphed donut AoE) or Shades' Crossing (a telegraphed plus-shaed AoE).
- The clones will then teleport again to the other statues and the third and fourth stored attacks will resolve in sequence. The boss will also follow with another Shades' Nest or Shades' Crossing.
