Thus did he labor to master the skill of foresight—but initial efforts bore little fruit. That is, until he looked to the stars above, which foretell the coming seasons, and learned to read the heavens. Though this gift is known today as astrology, the people of Sharalyan saw fit to not only read the stars, but to write their movements as well. By attuning their aetherial energies to that of constellations, they learned to wield magicks with heretofore unseen properties. ==Lore==
In his quest to master the skill of foresight, man turned his gaze to the truth writ in the heavens. It was the people of Sharlayan, however, who saw fit not only to read the stars but to write their movements as well. By attuning their aetherial energies to that of constellations, they learned to wield magicks with heretofore-unseen properties. Thus was astromancy born—a new form of magick which grants its users power over fate. Employing a star globe and divining deck in their miraculous deeds, fortune always smiles upon these masters of arcana.

History
The famed author of "The Five Ages," the Sharlayan sage Lewphon, devoted two decades of his life from the year 210 to the year 230 of the Sixth Astral Era to compiling a comprehensive study on the merits of star gazing. By analyzing the expansive historical records of man’s attempts to read his own fate, Lewphon hoped to separate the fables of superstition from the more reliable knowledge of evidence-based astrology. What his methodical scrutiny uncovered, however, was that much of the ancients' wisdom was founded in legitimate arcane theory. This revelation shifted the entire focus of his research, and his subsequent efforts to reconstruct and adapt these principles resulted in the creation of “astromancy”—an art which attuned the wielder’s aether to the movement of the heavens.
Following Lewphon’s discoveries, the cards of the fortune teller—previously considered an amusement fit only for children—were re-evaluated from an academic perspective. The deck of arcana, with its cards representative of the constellations, was integrated along with the star globe into a uniquely Sharlayan discipline of magick.

Equipment
Welkin Attire
These robes have long been the standard garb for astrologians of the Sharlayan Studium. Designed to conform to the traditional attire of mages, the addition of a crescent moon adorning the hat and a sunburst at the waist allowed the profession of the wearer to be more readily identified.

Atlas
This star globe was built in the fifteenth century of the Sixth Astral Era—a recreation based on the sketches of Lewphon, the father of Sharlayan astromancy. With its intricately designed pieces depicting a plethora of astrological phenomena, this arcane instrument is considered a priceless relic as a work of art alone.

Tenkan Chishi
Commissioned by Rowena’s House of Splendors, the Tenkan Chishi is the work of one of the Doman artisans who assisted with the expansion of Revenant’s Toll. Although the base design of the globe is Eorzean, the finished piece is obvious in its Far Eastern influences. Lacquer has been applied to the metallic surfaces, then baked at high temperatures to produce a uniquely beautiful sheen. Even among similar instruments, the revolutions of its spheres are considered to be uncommonly smooth and accurate, speaking to the extraordinary skill of its creation.

Halonic Priest's Planisphere
The astrologian Lewphon presented this globe to the Holy See as part of his efforts to introduce Sharlayan astromancy to the nation of Ishgard. At Lewphon’s instruction, the Ishgardian artisan who crafted the instrument took pains to capture aspects of the orthodox faith in its design, in a somewhat unsubtle attempt to sway the hearts of the conservative clergymen. Despite the exquisite quality of the work, however, the planisphere was overlooked in the constant flood of offerings made to the church and consigned to gather dust in the corner of some lightless storeroom.

Tricks of the Trade
*Astral Stasis: By throwing wide the gate to the seventh heaven—the highest of the astral domains—the astrologian favors the battlefield with celestial benediction. This technique is said to hold the power to skew one’s fate towards an almost certain victory.
*Benefic: Astrologians channel healing energies by attuning their aether to the “benefic” bodies in the heavens. Paired with an affinity for “malefic” bodies to effect destructive magicks, this attunement represents the fundamental principle of astromancy.
*Gravity: This magick manipulates the inexorable pull of the stars to magnify the force of gravity. Creatures within the area are subjected to a crushing pressure, with the worst of the effects centered on the primary target.
*Celestial Opposition: Considered to be the very essence of astromancy, this technique binds the astrologian’s aether to the loftiest of heavens. A single tug on this celestial cord alters the patterns of fate, showering allies with fortune, and afflicting foes with sudden adversity.

Leveva Byrde
*Race (Clan): Hyur (Midlander)
*Gender: Female
*Age: 16
*Epithet: Leveva Heavensreader
Leveva’s parents both died early in her life—her mother during childbirth, and her father a scant few years later. This left the orphaned girl to be taken in by her grandfather, Mace, a renowned professor of astromancy. His influence is ever present in her decidedly un-youthful perspective and manner of speech. Burning beneath Leveva’s mature veneer is a fiery ambition to embrace her destiny and continue her departed father’s work to bring astromancy to the wider world.

Jannequinard
*Race (Clan): Elezen (Wildwood)
*Gender: Male
*Age: 32
*Epithet: Jannequinard the Succedent
The sole proponent of astromancy in Ishgard, Jannequinard began his studies in the art during his formative years. Despite his contributions to planning the city’s defense and predicting the movements of the Horde, his colleagues had little time for the intricacies of astromancy, and Jannequinard’s efforts were met with disinterest, if not outright mockery.

Arcana
The cards of the astrologian’s divining deck are known as “arcana.” Each major arcanum is decorated with an illustration representing one of the six elemental heavens, and serves as a symbolic link between the practitioner and the constellations from which she draws power.
The text seems to be about the techniques and history of astrologians and their tools. Additionally, there are descriptions of some characters and their backgrounds.

Astrologian's Panoply
Constellation Turban
The turban is one item that came to the melting pot of Sharlayan through its scholars' study of other cultures—in this case, those of the Near East.

Constellation Top
Each astrological symbol on a scholar’s attire has specific meaning. For instance, the red gemstones on this top symbolize the river of stars which stretches across the night sky, while the prominent metal adornments represent the most significant among the celestial bodies, both fixed and wandering.

Constellation Sandals
An astrologian is defined by her relationship with the stars—our own included—and thus chooses what adorns her feet with care. The soles of most astrologians' shoes, like these sandals, are made of aetherially conductive material.

Form & Function
Given that the citizens of Sharlayan, birthplace of astromancy, have spent hundreds of years studying cultures the world over and gradually incorporating their traditions, it should come as no surprise that an astrologian’s attire appropriates elements from the garb of other Disciples of Magic. For instance, the welkin attire, designed when the school was yet new, strongly resembles the robes of a black mage, down to the pointed hat. The constellation attire, developed much later, is remarkably different, taking its inspiration from Near Eastern garb. This trend may make different sets appear disparate indeed, but they are at least consistent in their motifs, which generally appear in the metal ornaments adorning each piece. Sun, moon, and stars—an astrologian always twinkles like the night sky.
If you're not familiar with spearfishing, this mission can be confusing and difficult. Here's how to do it:
#Make sure you have spearfishing unlocked. If not, you need to complete the quest A New Fishing Ex-spear-ience given by Sumitsubo at The Ruby Sea (X:28.9, Y:15.9).
#Change your class to fisher. Activate Truth of Oceans (this is done automatically if you are FSH level 70 or above).
#Go to The Sunken Junk spearfishing hole around Yanxia (X:10, Y:34) and dive under water ( As shown to the right ).
#If necessary, use your Shark Eye II ability to find a Lv 70 Teeming Waters. There are some lvl 65 nodes to the east, but that is The One River Southwestern Riverbeds spearfishing hole, so be careful to avoid those.
#Begin spearfishing. Your first goal is to catch 8 Ichthyosaur. You may find the Veteran Trade ability to be helpful, but it only works for one type of fish at a time. Using it multiple times will not block multiple kinds of fish from spawning, only the last kind of fish you caught before activating the ability.
#Once you exhaust a node, find another one (using Shark Eye II if necessary). There are three nodes in The Sunken Junk spearfishing hole, and you can just cycle through them.
#After catching 8 Ichthyosaur, the swimming shadows node in The Sunken Junk's South Side spearfishing hole will appear. If you have Truth of Oceans activated, you will see the message "You sense level 70 swimming shadows to the <direction>" and the node will appear on your mini-map, similar to how Unspoiled Nodes appear for botany and mining.
#Spearfish the swimming shadows node and catch three Dafangshi. You will need this mission in your log to catch dafangshi, otherwise they will not appear. In addition, unlike a normal spearfishing target, dafangshi will appear as "Unknown Fish."
#If you are unable to catch 3 Dafangshi from one spearfishing attempt at the swimming shadows node, you will need to catch 8 more ichthyosaurs to spawn the swimming shadows at The Sunken Junk's South Side again.

Steps
*Wait for Reyna at the Gods' Grip.
*Gather information from the villagers in Isari.
*Deliver the dafangshi to Ukimono in Tamamizu.
*Speak with Wawalago at Fisherman's Bottom.

Journal
*Master Wawalago is examining you with an expectant eye.

*Wawalago excitedly explains that he's received a missive from Reyna, who is eager to share what she and her colleagues have learned from their inspection of the harutsuge sprags you successfully snared for her. Unable to contain his eagerness to meet the lovely lass with a passion for all things piscine, the guildmaster also states his intentions to steal away from the watchful eye of Sisipu and join you. Make your way to the Gods' Grip to see what manner of enlightening knowledge the fishing enthusiasts have gleaned.

*Wawalago is moderately dismayed to be greeted not by the gorgeous Reyna but rather her colleague Ansaulme, but quickly puts aside his qualms to inquire as to Ishgardian anglers' latest findings. Ansaulme relates their findings, such as they are: to wit, that they could determine no anomalies with the waters of the Ruby Sea from the specimens you secured. When the guildmaster then surmises that this could only mean that the problem can be traced to their spawning grounds, Ansaulme is impressed by his powers of deduction, encouraging Wawalago to travel to the Far East to investigate for himself. As the guildmaster hems and haws, Sisipu appears, chastising him for his insensitivity to her true feelings and giving him her blessings to make the journey eastward. You make for the fishing village of Isari to gather what information you can in advance of the guildmaster's arrival in Kugane.

*In Isari, an elderly fisherman by the name of Jisho shares with you an intriguing bit of history. Before the Garleans came, the Isari fishermen joined with their Kojin friends to hold a yearly event known as the Wadatsumi festival. The festivities involved catching fearsome sea beasts known as giant plesiosaurs and offering them in tribute to the kami of the seas, that calm might return to the oceans. Traditional religious practices, however, were outlawed twenty-five years ago when the Garleans came, and the bonds of friendship between Isari and the Kojin gradually faded away. You set off for Kugane to share this enlightening information with Master Wawalago.

*Upon hearing your tale, Master Wawalago quickly deduces that the outlawing of the festival has resulted in an overpopulation of plesiosaurs, who doubtless are preying upon on harutsuge hatchlings before they can reach full size. As such, it would stand to reason that reviving the festival would restore the harutsuge to the seas. Together with your companions, you make for the shores near Namai to catch yourselves some dafangshi, that you might present them to the Kojin in return for their cooperation in bringing back the festivities of old.

*Wawalago encourages you to ensnare three dafangshi, the fish favored by the Kojin, that it might convince them to take part in the revived Wadatsumi festivities. Should you find the task too trying, he suggests you speak with your Kojin friends and learn what you might of their special technique of spearfishing.

*Employing your spearfishing skills to their fullest, you manage to haul in three dafangshi. Wawalago expresses his admiration and bids you show them to Jisho in Isari, and secure his permission before then persuading the Kojin to take part in the festivities.

*Jisho is delighted to see the dafangshi, and is nigh brought to tears at the thought that his humble village, which struggled so long under the yoke of the empire, might at long last see its glory days return. As he calls upon the young ones to begin preparation, he bids you deliver the dafangshi to Tamamizu in his stead.

*Ukimono is likewise overjoyed at your offering of the dafangshi, saying that nothing would give him greater joy than to restore a beloved tradition of his people's past. This will not happen overnight, however, as the young Kojin himself remembers little of the particulars of the celebration. While Ukimono and Govv round up willing collaborators in Tamamizu, you set off back to Eorzea with Guildmaster Wawalago, who intends to do further research regarding the festivities at the guild.

*Back at Fisherman's Bottom, Wawalago restates his intent to research the Wadatsumi festival to the best of his abiltiies. He encourages you to make a foray to your favorite fishing hole in the meantime, so that you might be prepared to fish as you have never fished before when the occasion arrives.

Activate Truth of Oceans (this is done automatically if you are lvl 70 or above).
#Go to The Sunken Junk spearfishing hole around Yanxia (X:10, Y:34) and dive under water ( As shown to the right ).
#If necessary, use your Shark Eye II ability to find a Lv70 Teeming Waters.
#After catching 8 Ichthyosaur, and the swimming shadows node in The Sunken Junk's South Side spearfishing hole will appear.
Burn boss and kill spears ASAP. Frumious Koheel Ja casts Fire Angon by throwing burning spears at the ground which cast a stacking debuff to the whole party if they are left alive.
A shaman boss, who summons totems. If after a while no-one has claimed the totems, he will recall all of them and gain the buffs himself. Some of the totems grant buffs while some should be ignored. He will randomly hex a target and turns them into a toad for 12 seconds. He will also randomly cast Fire to the party members and while the damage is not too big, the totems can increase the damage.

Standing in a totem gives you a buff or debuff. Clean as many of the flags as possible and don't stack fire resist down.

There will be Purple, Red, Blue and Green Totems. The effects of the various colors are random. One will give you attack up (DPS should pick it up), another will give you the toad debuff or cleanse the toad debuff (only pick it up if you are a toad), another will give you fire resist down and final one will give the player heavy Heavy debuff.

*Because the Totem effects are random, use the first couple Totems to figure out which color has which effect. Do not allow any one player to have too many stacks of the fire debuff or the player will die when the boss casts a random fire spell on them.

The boss drops multiple banners on the ground during the fight. The banners' buff the boss' damage and armor, so the tank should just pull the boss away from the banner-range. Tank needs to keep moving the boss so the party doesn't have to fight in the banner AoE.

*Do not allow the boss to stand in purple circle of Sacred Standard, by kiting him around the outer edge of the boss room.

He will cast debuffs that makes healing worse and Soul Douse, which applies doom Doom on random party members looking at him. Healers can remove doom by healing the target to full hp. doom Doom can also be negated by turning around as he casts the spell. === Frumious Koheel Ja===
Burn boss and kill spears ASAP. Frumious Koheel Ja casts Fire Angon by throwing burning spears at the ground which cast a stacking debuff to the whole party if they are left alive.

Slithy Zolool Ja

Manxome Molaa Ja Ja
Stay very close to him to avoid a huge cone AoE. Move away for rotting gas. Person with rotting lung has to stay away from the party when Rotting Gas pops. The person with the lungs will also AoE around them.

Don't face the boss and it doesn't take effect.

When Sacred Idol spawns (the Idol with a tether to the boss), kill it ASAP!
Steps
*Speak with the Dextrous Dragonet.

*Have Whei Ahf use his Roar ability on the cryptic carving.

*Have Whei Ahf use his Roar ability on the next cryptic carving.

*Have Whei Ahf use his Roar ability on the last cryptic carving.

*Report to Mogek the Marvelous.

Journal
*Mogek is awaiting you with bated breath.

*Mogek apprises you of a discovery by the Mogmenders of a series of dragon statues on the perimeters of the Rookery, which appear have other uses given that unlike other statues, they glow with a faint light. He asks you to enlist the help of Whei Ahf, and travel to the Rookery to see if the statues respond to dragon magicks.

*The little dragonling gladly calls Whei Ahf for you, whose back you climb upon. Make your way to the Rookery and have Whei Ahf use his roar on one of the statues.

*When Whei Ahf breathes his magicks upon the first statue, its faint purple hue gleams brightly, sending a beam of light to the heavens. The wiry wyvern comments that it is strange that a man-made statue would react in such a way in the present. Curious, he suggests you make your way along the perimeter until all are awoken.

*As you move on to the next statue, Whei Ahf recalls the stories of his elders and how wyverns would bear men upon their backs, just as you are doing now. Continue to make your way around the perimeter towards the next statue.

*Upon awakening the third statue, Whei Ahf mulls whether the statues can only be awakened in the presence of both man and dragon, which is why they had long been left dormant. Make your way to the final statue.

*In awakening the last statue, you hear the curious sound of stone scraping in the distance as if a door has been opened, and a nearby moogle wonders what could have been unlocked through the activating the statues. The investigation will need to be left to the moogles as Whei Ahf wishes to return to the plaza. Report your success to Mogek.

*Mogek is pleased with the cooperative efforts between you and Whei Ahf in testing the statues' magicks. He reflects that if the men and dragons of yore are watching in the heavens, they would be proud that you both once again stand in solidarity as they once had.
