Upgrading Zodiac Braves to Zodiac Zeta
Quests: feature & feature

The upgrade is comprised of 12 Mahatmas of the original Atmas. To upgrade your weapon, you must awaken the Soul of your weapon through a method similar to Novus light farming. You need 40 points to awaken each Mahatmas. You can obtain points from dungeons and trials. Progress can be viewed from the Zodiac Glass. You will also be notified when ascension is complete in the chat log.

1. Talk to Remon in Swiftperch to complete feature. Once the quest is complete, you can now have Remon attach Mahatma to your weapon.

2. Immediately talk to Remon again to attach the first available Mahatma for Poetics Allagan Tomestones of Poetics.

3. Complete each of the 12 Mahatmas individually by running dungeons, raids, or fates until your "Mahatma fully awakens a sense of assertion within your Zodiac Weapon".

4. After each Mahatma awakens, speak with Remon to attach the next available Mahatma. Repeat the process for all 12 Mahatmas.

5. Speak with Jalzahn at the North Shroud and select "Zodiac Weapon of Awakening".

Note: Mahatma's bonus window is the same as Novus bonus window.

Note: You must have the relic weapon equipped on the last boss of the dungeon or trial in order to get light credit.

Note: Dungeons can also be completed undersized. As such, a convenient way to farm light points solo is The Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Level 16). Each run will give you 24 points when not on bonus, meaning 2 runs will complete the current Mahatma. Each run can be completed solo by any level 70 class in under 4 minutes in most cases. Remember that you can keep your normal weapon equipped until the last boss for quicker kills.
After finishing a Mahatma, you can get the next one from Remon in Swiftperch for 50 Allagan Tomestone of Poetics. You need to complete all 12, in order, to upgrade your weapon. They are ordered as follows:

Bosses
Players should be aware that stepping in any of the puddles on the ground in the Pestilent Sands or the Greuloff Pillars will debuff them with a potent poison Damage over Time debuff called Toxicosis, which deals about 10 000 damage per second until they step out.

Note that failing any mechanics in these fights will result in the player who failed them receiving a two minute stacking vulnerability up Vulnerability Up debuff.

Caustic Grebuloff
* Miasmata: Roomwide AoE that additionally spawns AoE circles around the arena. These AoEs will move across the arena in the direction of the wind, so players must position themselves to avoid them. If hit, a player will receive the Necrosis debuff, which must be cleansed, otherwise it can kill them.
* Cough Up: Drops 3 sets of AoEs on each player, spread apart to avoid overlapping. After the AoE circles players will receive a red arrow above their head, stack together to resolve the mechanic.
* Wave of Nausea: A donut AoE around the boss.
* Pox Flail: Tankbuster.
* Blighted Water: Stack marker.
* Befoulment: Targetted AoE circles, spread to avoid overlap.

Peacekeeper
* Decimation: Raid-wide AoE that also covers the outer part of the arena in fire.
* Electromagnetic Repellant: The boss summons a field that fills its hitbox, that debuffs players with electrocution Electrocution and deals damage as long as they stand in it.
* Order To Fire: Spawns a number of turrets around the boss, which then shoot line AoEs directly outward from the boss. The line AoEs converge at the edge of the boss's hitbox, leaving narrow cone safe-zones between the line AoEs between the boss's hitbox and the edge of the arena. Usually combined with a targeted AoE, so spread to avoid overlapping.
* No Future: Spawns a pattern of targeting circles, which will hit every area of the arena at some point. Stand in areas that don't yet have targeting circles, or ones that spawned later, then move into ones that just exploded. This attack has two patterns: the AoEs will spawn under the boss and move outwards, or will start from outside the arena and move inwards. The hitbox under the boss is never a safe zone, so players should avoid standing there. If the AoEs spawn from the edge inward, players can identify the safe space and move into it. If they spawn from the center of the arena, players can stand at the point where the AoEs overlap, as the next ones to spawn will spawn outward from the first and not be touching. The attack will fire two sets of circles on the first time, and three sets per cast from the second cast onward. Each successive cast is rotated such that the areas that were initially safe in the prior cast are now targeting circles, requiring players to adjust their positioning.
* Peacefire: Spawns AoEs that will keep rotating around the boss, avoid by rotating with the AoEs. Always cast alongside Electromagnetic Repellant, forcing players to stand in the area the circles rotate through. This can be cast alongside Order To Fire, requiring the players to find a position ahead of the rotating AoEs and within the narrow cone safe zones.
* Eclipsing Exhaust: Spawns AoE circles around the edges, with several gaps between them, then triggers a telegraphed knockback from the center of the room. Get knocked into a gap.
* Elimination: Tankbuster. The boss fires a wide beam that will hit other players if they are too close, almost certainly killing them.

The Last Mercy: Ra-la
* Warm Glow: Raid-wide AoE.
* Pity: Tankbuster.
* Prance: Boss jumps 4 times, dealing no damage, but dropping golden circular zones that will grow, then explode in the order they were spawned in. Move into one of the last two circles, then move into where the first circle was after it explodes.
* Lifesbreath: The boss jumps to the edge of the arena, then shoots a line AoEs through the middle. After the line AoE, a line of butterflies will spawn in the same location, facing one half of the arena in alternating pairs. (⬆⬆⬇⬇⬆⬆⬇⬇ etc...) After a short delay, the butterflies will fire a blast forward in the direction they are facing. Players must position themselves behind a butterfly to avoid the attack. Note that you can move through the line of butterflies before they fire. If hit by the butterflies player will receive the Doom debuff and must be healed up to full health to recover. The second cast of this is accompanied by Loving Embrace, making one half of the arena unsafe to stand on. Loving Embrace fires off slightly after the butterflies' attack, allowing melee DPS to swap sides if necessary.
* Benevolence: Stack marker.
* Loving Embrace: The boss will raise a glowing wing, then cleave that entire side of the stage from the middle of its hitbox outwards. Move to the other side to avoid.
* Still Embrace: Targeted AoE circles, spread to avoid overlapping.

Journal
*Shigure wants answers now or he wants them eventually.

*Shortly after the Wolf Burglar was detained by the Sekiseigumi, Master Akebono stormed into the gaol and began demanding the return of stolen goods other than the Soboro Sukehiro. Though the merchant was less than forthcoming with details, the Lupin revealed to Shigure that it was a plain, unmarked satchel filled with a white powder─presumably a medicine of some sort. Unsure what it was at the time, the thief gave it to Koju for safekeeping, who presumably still has it, and will not relinquish it unless you recite the proper password: “As above, so below.”

*Upon hearing the requisite words, Koju gives over the mysterious powder, the purpose of which remains unknown. Without the aid of an alchemist versed in the Hannish traditions, you are unlikely to ascertain its nature. Fortunately, the Thavnairian Consulate is within walking distance.

*As Shigure foresaw, one does not simply go and bang on the gates of a foreign consulate and expect to be received with open arms. The kami are feeling particularly whimsical this day, though, for it is then that Godbert Manderville, devoted father of Inspector Hildibrand, calls out to his beloved son and comrades. During the brief exchange of pleasantries, Lord Godbert's comrade introduces himself as representative of the Sahjattra Concern, which trades in all manner of alchemical goods. The Han subsequently identifies the mysterious powder as an essential ingredient used to create dewprism, a thimbleful of which is enough to befuddle the senses and make one susceptible to commands. The mystery is solved: Akebono has been using this dewprism to manipulate wealthy and influential individuals like Master Kumode to build his mercantile empire. Satisfied, Shigure would bring an end to his dastardly schemes once and for all.

*As Shigure was unable to foresee, one does not simply go and bang on the doors of a conniving criminal's estate and expect him to be home, much less willing to give up without a fight. Before you can even begin to discuss your next course of action, the Wolf Burglar appears, revealing that he only surrendered himself earlier to secure Shigure's release and lull Akebono into a false sense of complacency, after which he would then secure your cooperation to bring Akebono to justice. Though he knows not where the merchant is now, he knows where he will be: the Isle of Bekko, where he is to meet a silent partner and plot more villainy, no doubt.

*As you spy upon the clandestine meeting, you are shocked to see Akebono in the company of the Sahjattra representative you met before, as well as Lord Godbert, who is clearly under the influence of dewprism. Unable to restrain himself, Inspector Hildibrand reveals himself and implores his father to break free of the drug's thrall. Alas, this only serves to draw his attention to Shigure, Greg, and the Wolf Burglar, who are swiftly dispatched by the might of the Hammer. However, Godbert then turns on his supposed masters, apparently unable to distinguish friend from foe. And so it falls to Hildibrand Helidor Maximilian Manderville to meet the man from whose loins he sprung in mortal combat. You can but look on, mesmerized, as son launches into the air, arms wrapped around his father, as he mournfully sings the song of his house in a vain effort to wake the man he so desperately loves from his madness, only to discover to his delight and dread that performing one of the traditional Mandervillian martial techniques triggers an instinctive response─an irreversible reversal, leaving the inspector helpless before the impending onslaught...
:After the dust has settled, Godbert apologizes for his excess. But in spite of the minor cataclysm, all is well. Akebono and the Han have been exposed and will face justice, and the Soboro Sukehiro, which Akebono just so happened to be carrying, can be returned to its rightful owner, the Wolf Burglar. Having avenged his father, the Lupin is content to return to his cell in Kugane, but Shigure, to everyone's surprise, insists that he leave with the sword instead. And so the Wolf Burglar departs, Soboro Sukehiro in hand, to pay his respects to the samurai who loved him as family. For a fleeting moment, it seems as though it will be an almost unreasonably happy ending for all...which is perhaps why the Hannish co-conspirator, in a fit of petulance, uses a hidden supply of dewprism to enthrall Greg and command him to spirit him far away. And so the warrior somehow opens a massive portal and drags the Han, Inspector Hildibrand, and Nashu Mhakaracca to wondrous worlds unseen.

*Intending to deliver him to the Sekiseigumi in person, Lord Godbert takes Akebono and departs for Kugane, and Shigure suggests you do the same. And really, after the earlier spectacle, what else is there left to say?

*Much will change in the wake of Akebono's fall, Shigure explains. The medicines he once hoarded and sold for unreasonable profits will be sold to more merchants due to the intervention of Hannish officials, thereby ensuring lower prices and greater supply. All indebted to Akebono will be absolved of their debts, for they were secured through immoral means. This, in particular, Shigure considers to be the greater victory now, for his experiences with you and the others have helped him to understand that the world is anything but black and white. While he may not agree with the Wolf Burglar's methods, he understands that he is a noble soul─though should he ever forsake his principles, Shigure will not hesitate to bring him to justice. A necessary sentiment, perhaps, though if your experiences with the Lupin are any indication, he will keep to his chosen path.
:And Inspector Hildibrand? Well, as a former inquisitor once mused, he will no doubt turn up again like a bad gil─and when he does, trouble is sure to follow...
*Yezahn has yet another favor to ask of the only adventurer he knows.

*The troubles facing Palaka's Stand continue to mount, the most pressing of them being the lack of supplies and able bodies. Yezahn asks you if you know anyone who could help, and you mention Kancana and Ogul, who reside in Yedlihmad. Yezahn seems eager to make their acquaintance, and leaves it to you to enlist their aid.
**※Please note that the difficulty of this quest has been synced to your current level.

*Kancana listens with growling concern as you explain the purpose of your visit. She agrees to help Palaka's Stand without question, and promises to have a shipment of supplies ready posthaste. Ogul offers to protect the shipment, and rushes off to the gates of Yedlihmad with Racashir hot on her heels.

*Ogul and Racashir are ready to depart, with the former carrying the supplies on her back. Keep an eye out for hungry monsters and daring bandits as you make the long journey to Palaka’s Stand.

*You rescue Ogul and Racashir from the maws of a hungry beast. They do not appear to be harmed, but Racashir is staring at you with an awed expression.

*Racashir is impressed with your display, and while Ogul is thankful for your help, she is eager to commence the adventure. She rushes off with a boisterous challenge, leaving the supplies behind. Luckily, Racashir remains to pick up the slack.

*You arrive to find a monster slain, with Ogul and Sula standing over it triumphantly. Sula is pleased to see you, and it seems that in Ogul she has found a fierce fighting companion. She offers to escort you to Palaka's Stand, where it seems Yezahn is awaiting your arrival.

*Yezahn is grateful for the arrival of supplies and protection both, and Ogul seems to have found her next adventure. She presents Yezahn with a journal she found during the journey, which the alchemist reveals belonged to Mehvan and Qerasaf. This unexpected discovery is welcomed, and it seems that there is hope for Palaka’s Stand at last.

*Ogul resolves to help the people of Palaka’s Stand rebuild, and is eager to resume Racashir’s instruction in the fine art of adventuring. The sun shines bright on Palaka's Stand, and the tenseness in Yezahn’s shoulders seems to have dissipated entirely.

*With the pressing crisis facing Palaka's Stand solved, Yezahn basks in the first moments of comfort he has had in some time. The reverie is short-lived, however, as he quickly turns to what must be done in the days ahead. With his help, and the help of the settlement’s new arrivals, wounds will heal and the citizens of Palaka’s Stand will come to know peace once more.
