Ketenramm: If memory serves, such a plague swept the realm at the end of the Fifth Astral Era... But that'd mean ye've been asleep for more than one thousand five hundred years.

Archive: That would explain why I feel so well rested. Now that I'm awake, I should very much like to see what has become of the isle...
Archive: I certainly don't recall the memorial fountain being so begrimed with algae. Perhaps you do speak the truth.
Archive: And this strange aether I sense pervading the island... Could it be a ward of sorts?
Archive: Hmph. The noggin's still foggy after that eons-long slumber.

Ketenramm: Alas, most were lost to the waves. Me crew and I reached Tural on account of us rangin' northward and avoidin' the same treacherous waters that claimed them.
Ketenramm: That stretch of the Deep came to be known as Shades' Triangle. I had a notion to solve its mysteries on behalf of me fallen comrades, but after arrivin' on these shores, it was the land, not the sea, that promised adventures anew.
Ketenramm: Once I'd settled here and disbanded the expedition, I never did get the opportunity.
Ketenramm: But then I crossed paths with a certain realm-renowned adventurer and began to wonder...
Ketenramm: Aye, somethin' told me that with yer help I'd finally shed light on the mystery of those accursed waters. So, how about it? Will ye join this old explorer on one final jaunt?

'''Ketenramm the Blue''' was a sailor who sought to prove once and for all that the landmass referred to only as [[The New World]] truly existed, and was more than an old wives' tale. As the records of '''The New World''' were lost or destroyed, all he had to go on was a general direction in which to sail.

Ketenramm and his crew sailed for over two moons to the west, nearly running out of supplies before finally making land. Following its rediscovery, Ketenramm attempted to name the land Ketenland, but was unsuccessful.

In the following moons, the team set up camp and spent a lot of time exploring the land, eventually coming across the nation of [[Mamook]] and the people of the [[Mamool Ja]]. They were brought before the nation's ruler, the "Supreme Leader". They presented him with many gifts, which impressed him so much that he returned the favor, endowing them with several gifts from his homeland, not the least of which a massive silver statue. They were also given the freedom to completely explore the land as they saw fit and take with them what they liked.

After several moons, the ship finally departed, it was laden with flora and fauna as well as several trinkets and treasures to prove the land had not only been found, but was populated and somewhat civilized. This sparked the development of trade routes to the '''New World'''.

While living among the [[Mamool Ja]] in [[Mamook]], [[Ketenramm]] went by the moniker "Tankwa," a name he said was easier for the locals to pronounce. His title "the Blue" is a reference to his eye color, as was the name of his residence in [[Yak T'el]], "Blue-eyes' Abode."

Ketenramm's name means "Chained Ram" in the [[Languages/Roegadyn Dictionary|traditional Roegadyn language]].

Given that Ketenramm is a famous navigator and is named in the traditional Roegadyn language, his canonical status as a [[Hellsguard]] is questionable, since a [[Sea Wolves|Sea Wolf]] would seem more appropriate. He does however use a Hellsguard in-game model.
