[[CP]], or [[crafting]] points, are required to use some certain crafting actions. When playing a [[Disciple of the Hand]], the CP bar replaces the MP bar.

CP regenerates fully after ending a craft (regardless of success), but does not naturally regenerate while crafting, though there are a few actions that can restore CP during a craft.

CP is generally considered the most important crafting attribute, because a minimum amount of CP is required to complete a given crafting rotation. That being said, CP is a "threshold" stat where you need ''enough'' for the rotation, but any extra is worthless.

CP stat caps on gear tend to be low, with the cap being easily reached with one endgame materia, and possibly one low-grade materia to supplement it. The CP cap on tools is especially low, reachable with one low-grade materia.<noinclude>

**Normally, the gourmand will trap a party member, and their allies need to defeat the stomach to free them.
**This spell ''can'' be obtained solo here by reducing the boss to low HP, putting a damage-over-time effect or {{action icon|Doom}} on it, then being Devoured. So long as the boss gets the spell off, then dies from the DoT/Doom before killing you, you can learn the spell.
***Doom has been FULLY resisted every time I've casted it on the Gourmand. If solo, you'd have to take out 90+% of the boss's HP before being devoured for the DoT solo strategy to work. At level 60, this is not possible.
*Getting the spell from Nullchu is much more straightforward if playing solo, since it devours the Rafflesia add instead of a player.

If you're solo, Doom works to learn this spell. Initiate combat. Run around for 16 seconds. Start spamming Doom. Hope it lands within 4 casts. Cleanse the Slime with Exuviation. Run away again. Tail Screw will drop you to 1 HP. Doom should go off soon enough after to kill it. This strategy worked 7 times before I learned Tail Screw. (Note, this does NOT work for Devour on the Decaying Gourmand who is fully immune to Doom)

Rslogic: For Blue Mages trying to learn Loom via Amdapor, it's good to know before trying and wasting time that the first boss is a MAJOR gatekeeper. Possibly not a problem at much higher levels.

===Acquisition Tips===
The Loom spell is a teleport ability with no cast time for [[Flame Sergeant Dalvag]], so you'll never see it on his cast bar. If you just stand in melee range, he will never cast Loom.

To make him cast Loom, do the following:
* As he starts casting another ability, use this time to move away from him, out to 10-15 yalms. Once he finishes, he should teleport back into melee range of you, the teleport is him using Loom.
* Kill him after you see him use the teleport.

Another method is to engage Flame Sergeant Dalvag from range. If you are far enough, he will use Loom to start the fight.

The first Boss of "The Lost City of Amdapor" has a devour mechanic that is incredibly hard to counter if solo. Testimony from a level 52 Blue Mage: Deep Freeze doesn't work, Stun doesn't work. If you're solo, you WILL be devoured and unable to do anything until you're spit out with 0 hit points.

===Other Tips===
* Loom is useful for a few Masked Carnivale fights when dodging wide AoE attacks, especially when the player is inflicted by {{status effect|Heavy}} Heavy. Some examples include {{questlink|maskedcarnivale|Blobs in the Woods}} and {{questlink|maskedcarnivale|Dirty Rotten Azulmagia}}.
