CP, or crafting points, are required to use some certain crafting actions. When playing a Disciple of the Hand, the CP bar replaces the MP bar.

CP regenerates fully after ending a craft (regardless of success), but does not naturally regenerate while crafting, though there are a few actions that can restore CP during a craft.

CP is generally considered the most important crafting attribute, because a minimum amount of CP is required to complete a given crafting rotation. That being said, CP is a "threshold" stat where you need enough for the rotation, but any extra is worthless.

CP stat caps on gear tend to be low, with the cap being easily reached with one endgame materia, and possibly one low-grade materia to supplement it. The CP cap on tools is especially low, reachable with one low-grade materia.<noinclude>

Though classified as a freshwater fish native to the Velodyna and Hathoeva rivers, this particular wavekin can survive in the brackish delta where the waterways spill into the Sea of Jade. The southern pike will eat almost anything that will fit in its mouth, including fish, shells, frogs, even squirrels and birds.
Flavor Text
A useful little ability originating with the ghrah, Aetheric Mimicry allows the mage to match his aetherial wavelength to that of another person, granting the same benefits as their hard-won combat training.
Acquisition
Duties
dropped by

Tips
Acquisition Tips
*Ghrah Luminary will summon a monster called "Corruption". Killing the corruption is enough to obtain Aetheric Mimicry. If running unsynced, players can keep killing the adds until they learn the spell. This method is arguably faster and simpler than needing to form a party to run the dungeon synced.
**You CANNOT learn this solo at 60. You will get Vulnerability stacks and take too much damage too fast to heal up. It seems like this spell and Devour are both meant to be learned either with a group, or at quite higher levels than when they're first able to be learned.
***The "Corruption" trash mobs at the beginning of the dungeon do not teach the spell.

Other Tips
*After acquiring this, it's strongly recommended to be mimicking at least DPS unless a fight calls for a different mimic.
*The impacted spells for Tank Tank are:
**Cactguard (5% damage reduction becomes 15% damage reduction)
**Devour (duration from 15s to 70s)
**Chelonian Gate (Divine Cataract potency increased from 500 to 1,000)
**Dragon Force (20% damage reduction becomes 40% damage reduction).
*The impacted spell for Dps DPS is:
**Matra Magic (potency per hit increased from 50 to 100).
*The impacted spells for Healer Healer are:
**Pom Cure (cure potency from 100 to 500)
**Gobskin (shield potency from 100 to 250)
**Exuviation (cure potency from 50 to 300)
**Stotram (restores HP instead of dealing damage)
**Angel's Snack (adds 200 potency regen for 15s).
* Aetheric Mimicry: Tank increases physical defense by approximately 145% and magical defense by 40%.

Tips
Acquisition Tips
*If obtaining the spell from the Decaying Gourmand:
**Normally, the gourmand will trap a party member, and their allies need to defeat the stomach to free them.
**This spell can be obtained solo here by reducing the boss to low HP, putting a damage-over-time effect or Doom on it, then being Devoured. So long as the boss gets the spell off, then dies from the DoT/Doom before killing you, you can learn the spell.
***Doom has been FULLY resisted every time I've casted it on the Gourmand. If solo, you'd have to take out 90+% of the boss's HP before being devoured for the DoT solo strategy to work. At level 60, this is not possible.
*Getting the spell from Nullchu is much more straightforward if playing solo, since it devours the Rafflesia add instead of a player.

Other Tips
*Devour is highly recommended when you are tanking with Aetheric Mimicry: Tank, as it gives an effectively-permanent buff to max HP, as well as a bit of healing.
Karlabos performs Tail Screw by collecting turbulent aether in the tip of its tail, then unleashing it at once as a violent whorl that rips foes' lives from their bodies. This is notoriously difficult to imitate, due to the challenges inherent in attempting to control such a volatile aetherial vortex.
Tips
Acquisition Tips
*This can potentially kill a Blue Mage in one shot if they are afflicted with Slime. Be sure this is removed in order to survive and stay alive to learn the spell.

If you're solo, Doom works to learn this spell. Initiate combat. Run around for 16 seconds. Start spamming Doom. Hope it lands within 4 casts. Cleanse the Slime with Exuviation. Run away again. Tail Screw will drop you to 1 HP. Doom should go off soon enough after to kill it. This strategy worked 7 times before I learned Tail Screw. (Note, this does NOT work for Devour on the Decaying Gourmand who is fully immune to Doom)

Other Tips
*If a boss is immune to instant death, it is immune to Missile, Doom and Tail Screw.
*Even though you can learn Tail Screw from Karlabos, it isn't immune to it.
To utilize this simple teleportation magic, casters must create an aetherial current upon which to travel between their location and the desired position. Though this is only effective over short distances, it is nevertheless an invaluable tool in the event that one needs to beat a hasty retreat.
Tips
Acquisition Tips
The Loom spell is a teleport ability with no cast time for Flame Sergeant Dalvag, so you'll never see it on his cast bar. If you just stand in melee range, he will never cast Loom.

To make him cast Loom, do the following:
* As he starts casting another ability, use this time to move away from him, out to 10-15 yalms. Once he finishes, he should teleport back into melee range of you, the teleport is him using Loom.
* Kill him after you see him use the teleport.

Another method is to engage Flame Sergeant Dalvag from range. If you are far enough, he will use Loom to start the fight.

The first Boss of "The Lost City of Amdapor" has a devour mechanic that is incredibly hard to counter if solo. Testimony from a level 52 Blue Mage: Deep Freeze doesn't work, Stun doesn't work. If you're solo, you WILL be devoured and unable to do anything until you're spit out with 0 hit points.

Other Tips
* Loom is useful for a few Masked Carnivale fights when dodging wide AoE attacks, especially when the player is inflicted by Heavy Heavy. Some examples include maskedcarnivale and maskedcarnivale.
Introduction

Red Mages were born out of a long conflict between the nations of Mhach and Amdapor. These fierce mages combine black and white magic to twist the battlefield, and strive where others otherwise would fail. Armed with rapiers and a magicked crystal medium, red mages are fit for quick combos of magic spells and steel-infused blows.
