The Hunt is an initiative established by the Eorzean Alliance, offering a bounty to adventurers who aid in quelling the threat posed by notably dangerous monsters that prowl the lands of Eorzea. Players can kill Elite Marks all over Eorzea and receive various rewards or participate in Mark Bills and kill specific regular monsters. The Hunt was first introduced in patch 2.3.

Beginning with Heavensward's Clan Hunt, the dailies functionally replace class Hunting Logs for solo leveling.
Mark Bills
Players will find a Hunt Board at each Grand Company headquarters, upon which Mark Bills have been posted listing bounties for various enemies. There are two types of mark bills: Regular Mark Bills, which are posted once per day, and Elite Mark Bills, which are posted once per week. These bills list the name and number of targets to be hunted, their location, and the reward being offered for their defeat.

*The targets listed on regular and elite marked bills will differ from player to player.
*Mark Bill targets will have a special icon over their name:

Elite Mark Bills task the players to kill a Rank B Elite Mark. By killing the B mark, a player is awarded 5000 gil and 100 Allied Seals.

Where can I find Marks I have accepted?
Look in your inventory key items to see the Mark bills you have accepted.

Regular and Elite Marks
Elite Marks
While Regular Marks denote enemies commonly found in overworld zones, Elite Marks denote powerful enemies that only appear under certain conditions. They are ranked according to the risk they pose: B Rank (lowest risk), A Rank, and S Rank (highest risk).

New marks are posted on the Hunt board at the following times:
* Regular Mark Bills: Daily at 11:00 AM (EST) or 8:00 AM (PDT)
* B Rank Elite Mark Bills: Weekly on Tuesday at 4:00 AM (EST) or 1:00 AM (PDT)
* A Rank: Not posted, these are regularly spawning monsters which generally have combat mechanics similar to a dungeon boss, they spawn every 3 to 6 hours. Every A Realm Reborn field area has one A Rank Mark that can spawn, while all subsequent expansions have two A Rank Marks per zone.
* S Rank: Not posted, these are hidden monsters which have long respawn timers, and require very specific actions or conditions to spawn. It is generally advised to fight these in.a group.
<references></references>

Clan Marks & Veteran Clan Marks
Clan Hunt is the new Mark Bills system introduced in Heavensward (3.0). Players can receive Clan Mark Bills from the Clan Hunt Board in Foundation (x12,y11). These Marks are divided into 4 types: level 1, 2, 3, and Elite (B-rank). They task the players to hunt down various enemies in Heavensward areas. Players can awarded with Centurio seal Centurio Seals, gil gil, and exp EXP by completing them. The level 1, 2, and 3 marks refresh daily, while the Elite (B-rank) mark bill is once per week.

Veteran Clan Hunt is the Mark Bills system of Stormblood (4.0). Players can receive Veteran Clan Mark Bills from the Veteran Clan Hunt Boards in Kugane or Rhalgr's Reach. These Marks are divided into 4 types: One-star, Two-star, Three-star, and Elite (B-rank). They task the players to hunt down various enemies in Stormblood areas. Players can awarded with Centurio seal Centurio Seals, gil gil, and exp EXP by completing them. The One-star, Two-star, and Three-star marks refresh daily, while the Elite (B-rank) mark bill is once per week.
Dawn Marks
Mark Identification
Hunt marks are always the level cap of the expansion they are in and have a unique name, like White Joker, instead of a generic one like Ground Squirrel. They are also physically larger than standard enemies of the same species and generally feature a unique coloration.
B-Ranks
Respawn Time||ARR # Per Map||HW+ # Per Map
5 Seconds || 1 || 2

<span>B-Ranks offer no direct reward. Players can hunt them for the Weekly Elite Mark Bill, which will reward 100 of that expansion's hunt currency and 5000 gil. B-Ranks are passive and so have the tier 4 blue symbol next to their name. passive</span>

A-Ranks
Respawn Time ARR||Respawn Time HW+||ARR # Per Map||HW+ # Per Map
3.5 - 4.5 Hours || 4 - 6 Hours || 1 || 2

<span>A-Ranks offer rewards to players if they have completed the appropriate side quests to unlock the hunt for that expansion. They reward a pitiful amount of experience. The respawn time will start when the mark is killed. A-Ranks are aggressive and so have the tier 4 red triangle next to their name. aggressive</span>

S-Ranks
Respawn Time||ARR # Per Map||HW+ # Per Map
Varies || 1 || 1

S Ranks require specific conditions to occur to spawn. To view a list of conditions check the Elite Marks page. S-Ranks can be identified by the same red mark as A-ranks and a message in chat that says <code>You sense the presence of a powerful mark...</code>.

When an S-Rank is killed in Shadowbringers, Endwalker, or Dawntrail it has the potential to spawn an SS-Rank

SS-Ranks
SS-Ranks, or "Extraordinarily Powerful Marks," have the same symbol as S-Rank as well as <code>You sense the presence of an extraordinarily powerful mark...</code> in the chat. However, they are only spawned after an S-Rank in Shadowbringers or later is killed. There is an RNG chance when such an S-Rank is killed that it will spawn minions. If minions spawn, <code>The minions of an extraordinarily powerful mark are on the hunt for prey.</code> will appear in the chat. These minions will appear in 4 corners of the map the S-Rank died in: North-East, North-West, South-East, South-West. If the minions are all killed within 5 minutes, an SS-rank will spawn, which offers more rewards than an S-Rank

Spawn Points
There are a limited number of spawn points a Hunt Mark can spawn on a map. A spawn point cannot be shared between marks. The spawn point of a mark is pre-selected on death of the mark. Therefore, even if a specific rank is down, another mark will not be able to spawn in the selected spot. IE: If an S-Rank is not currently alive, a B-rank will not be able to select it's pre-selected spawn point to spawn in. This can be used to deduce an S-rank's spawn location by process of elimination (via the quickly reswpawning B-rank).

Rewards
Receiving Rewards
Hunt mark rewards are based on enmity of the player, not damage dealt. The enmity of the entire party is combined, so forming 8-player Full Parties is often essential to receive full rewards. Players must also have completed the quests for feature (allied seal Allied Seals), feature (centurio seal Centurio Seals), and feature (sack of nuts Sacks of Nuts) to receive those currencies. You must kill the mark on a level-capped Job to receive Allagan Tomestones other than Poetics Poetics.

A Realm Reborn
Both regular and elite bills list a bounty for their indicated marks. This bounty will be paid in full once the marks have been slain.
*Allied seal Allied Seals can be exchanged for rewards by speaking with the Hunt Billmaster at your Grand Company.
Resources
As a general best practice, most Data Centers maintain a Discord server for coordinating and announcing what the players call "Hunt trains." The Discord servers also serve as a consistent relay channel for S Rank Hunts, allowing players to participate in the hunt's rarer elite marks more frequently.

During a "Hunt Train", players will form parties (usually via Party Finder.) The parties are then led by a player who has collected the locations of Hunt Marks for a given expansion. The parties will teleport from zone to zone killing all of the A-rank marks in a given expansion in rapid succession. This will earn 120/240 of the current Allagan Tomestones, Poetics 360 Poetics, and 480 of that expansion's hunt currency, assuming all marks for that expansion are currently available. Hunt Trains are a player organized effort, to attempt to maximize rewards for many players in a relatively short period of time.

However, it should be explicitly noted that The Hunt's Marks are field monsters, and thus, may be freely attacked by any player, at any time, which is not a violation of any in-game policy. Any players berating, harassing, or coercing players into not engaging Marks in favor of hunt trains may be in violation of the terms of service, as discouraging others from following their own play style, especially in an aggressive or persistent way may be considered Harassment.
Lore
{{quotation|Encyclopaedia Eorzea: Volume II, page 271|To abate the threat of notorious beasts roaming free in the wilds, the Eorzean Alliance established an organized culling commonly known as the Hunt. Yet rather than assign this duty to their respective armies and risk a lessening of their ranks, the leaders of the Grand Companies instead petitioned that the tasks be assigned to adventurers and mercenaries. With a bounty on the heads of myriad menacing monsters, adventurers seeking danger and glory could now take up arms, find their marks, and reap the renown of tracking and defeating, the realm’s most dangerous game.

The independently operated Clan Centurio—brought together by Ser Leaudaste of Ishgard and colorfully known as a “ragtag band of glory hunters, mercenaries, and has-beens”—has also taken it uponnitself to rid the land of deplorables, collecting coin from the citizenry with the promise that the clan will see the realm safe. This feat they achieve by offering a portion of the amassed gil as reward to any hunter brave or foolish enough to fell the marks.

The following are excerpts taken from an official Clan Centurio mark log-a comprehensive collection of rumors and sightings compiled over centuries by past hunters. As such, some of the entries tend to be a tad more colorful than what one may find in a normal bestiary. Hunt boards plastered with the latest mark bills can now be found in almost every large settlement from Eorzea to Hingashi. Bills contain much of the information an aspiring hunter needs to know about his quarry. But without the proper seal, a kill will earn him little more than a pat on the back.}}
